    Connoisseur Boats

I recently asked about the old Connoisseur boats from Herbert Woods and seemed to cause a bit of a debate .I have just spent a week on one of them and I must say that it was spotless and well maintained. We much preferred it to the Brinks Serenade we had last month with its mostly unnecessary gimmicks, and ridiculously limited vision.

Thanks,I've just got a last minute booking on Glow of Light.Could not refuse because I've been home a week and getting withdrawal symptoms.Any thing will do.

    Connoisseur

I can remember the Connoisseur boats being built at Wroxham ,and being rather classy at the time. What are they like after all these years since Herbert Woods took them over?

Yes saw you too.Did you have a cover for the skylight on the forward cabin?I noticed that Serenade 1 did.Without improvising with a jacket we would have been woken very early.Another little oversight.

Hi thanks for the ad.I hired my first boat from Herbert Woods in 1961 and have been visiting on and off since. We have just returned from a week's holiday on Brinks Serenade 3 , and I'd like comment on a couple of points. Barnes told me that one of their staff must take all their craft through Wroxham bridge.Secondly ,after reading the review of Serenade I was very impressed and must try it out.Nice craft, handled well, but if we had not had such glorious weather the crew would have seen nothing with the roof closed unless they were well over six feet.Visibility while driving is also difficult without a pillow to sit on .
