  1. As they used to be when.We used to pay £30.00, that would be great.
  2. That sounds like a good way to get rid of all hire boats Griff Tony
  3. Looking at remarks on this and other topics like :- seeing on F/book and another forum better order another set of fenders, the silly season, I didn't get hit once, the likely hood of being hit by an inexperienced hire boater, I've come to the conclusion that all hire boaters, to quote an old adage are all tarred with the same brush and are incompetent and private owners are experts. I have watched many private owners perform on the canals ,rivers and Broads and have come to the opinion that if thats the best you can do sell it. I also wonder if any one thought that a hire boater might have a lot more experience at boat handling than them, finally to refer back to the remarks is there any ruling that you can't use a different name on another forum. I await to be HD&Q
  4. I've got two hols coming up at Richos, fortnight in May and 10 days in Sept says could be ready at 2.30 but normal time is 4.00. They rang me as I was travelling down in March to tell me boat would be ready at 1.00

  8. 1975 got friendly with a family on Beaune a varnished forward steer woody from Bondons. I think a couple of years later they brought out the new Sancerre range, quite advanced for the time
  9. Just watched one of Robin's videos touring round the Broads in the Merc. on Easter Sunday. Was that an Ocean 30 I saw moored in the corner when he called in at Ranworth
  10. Should I put my hat on and stand beside you, whole heartedly agree with you. I don't remember seeing any plastic packaging when I was young, sugar was taken from a sack and put in apaper bag, butter and cheese were taken from a tub or cut from a block and wrapped in greaseproof paper the local fish.mongers slab was open to the street and we are still here. In the present situation of mind changing, lies and indesition could we ever believe anything we are told again
  11. We had Cambria and Giselle from Broadsway, Tropical Heart from Hearts, Caravelle from Chumley and Hawke Firegem, Firecrest and Firebronze from Walklins
  12. You got there before me, but also there is something about a persons attitude but I can't remember what it is. Old age creeping on lol
  13. As I said earlier it works for cars also which I didn't mention it works on the canals. As I hire it doesn't affect me I am just looking at it from the private owners point of view

  23. I miss the old style entertainment we used to get, Love Thy Neighbour, Jim Davidsons Chalky etc. I wonder what the ones who start this nitpicking would say if in this case Waitrose could sue them for the cost of removing from the shelves, re--labelling and replacing
  24. Not Broads related but wondered what forumites views were on Waitroses racial chocolate duckling, considering, according to H C Anderson ugly brown duckling turned into a beautiful white swan
  25. We have seen the distress with Sand Martins in the 70s when we used to go up to Coltishall Lock, you moored at the other side then and they nested in the bank, some one rammed a boat in the bank and blocked several tunnels, me and my daughters spent best part of an hour in a dinghy opening them up again and releasing the birds trapped inside
