Is that an example of how much BA pays a landowner? If so then little wonder there are so many no mooring signs.

Know of a tidy Sealine 34,, comes with all the bells and whistles on the roof and enough paperwork to use as a pillow. Moorings offering all services on southern waters can be offered.

Im thinking the heater controller wont be far away from the heater its self.

The bonnet has been pimped so they may leave that behind.

That is mad Griff - why on earth would someone want to nick your wheel arch liners ?
Perhaps someone nicked them to replace the ones that were nicked from their van.

Some pics of the repaired bearer,
as I said previously it was only “glassed “in very lightly,
just the end centimetre or so.
it wasn’t moving or rattling around ,prob1/2 to 1mm up/down not side/side
once I’ve had the gearbox out I’ll check the alignment etc.
my buddy does the laser alignment on the navy ships amongst other things so I’ll get him to double check things once he’s back from Australia,
I did discuss with him about removing the bearer and casting a new one with Eppicast resin but he thought it a bit overkill
as you can see in the photos,it’s now properly secured with 1cm of GRP and 2x 10mm stainless through bolts for good measure.
Do I spy a loose nut in photo #2 ?

I seem to have stirred up an off-topic hornet's nest here, about hydraulic steering.
By the way, ATF is not the correct oil for hydraulic steering. It eats away at the oil seals in the piston and causes leaks. The correct one is a white hydraulic oil such as Total Equivis, as used in hydraulic drives.
Threads drift all the time and I found this drift interesting due to my working experiance with hydraulics and electronics so before it drifts back can I ask what sort of high temperature did you experiance for the systems to fail due to heat.
Yes, there is a whole world of difference in various oils and the rubber compounds used in seals which is why for oil I had Mobil oil on speed dial along with a sealing specialist who had something like 20 different compounds for seals.
Remember one headache being caused by milk eating through rubber.

Showing my lack of knowledge once again in that I did not know that plastic piping was available.
Why on earth would anyone fit plastic piping?
No need to answer that BTW
Plastice pipe has been developed to cope with the pressures involved and it most likely comes on a roll and there would be less joints compared to copper (?). Plus it might be easier to ease round any bend.

I suggest it is unhelpful to keep comparing these issues with what happens at sea. The steering Telemotor systems used on a ship bear little or no comparison to something installed on the flying bridge of a boat in the basin at Potter Heigham..
Why is this, can lessons not be learned and used on smaller boats.

Would it improve safety in the circumstances we are talking about? In my opinion, almost certainly not. you must also factor in hydraulic leaks. Hydraulic steering is not, in fact, particularly reliable. It is even subject to failure in hot temperatures of direct sunlight. Vis : the flying bridge of a dual control boat.
If so then problems can be overcome. To be clear Im talking new builds not retro fits.
-
Staying on the subject of upper and lower controls and interlocks then a mechanical/ electrical safety specialist would be a good start.
They wouldnt need to know anything about water, tides or wind, finding such a person is a different matter.
Explain the problem to a F1 racing engineer and you might get a fly by wire system.

Even Sky news quoted the report in full and did an accurate report on the incident so I tend to agree with Vaughans first paragraph above.

Because the fuel pumps pushes rather than sucks I am thinking fuel is unable to run back past the pump.

Happened to see Noahs Ark close up yesterday and it is indeed a nice looking boat.

As the marina fitted the new water pump, should we have expected them to make sure everything was correctly set up and running properly?
That really depends on the wording at the time.
Hello, I need a new water pump fitted please - New pump fitted.
Hello, Im having problem with water flowing to taps & shower, - Whole different thing.

I got an error message for a short time earlier today
Does that count as an outrage?

The only outrage I`ve seen is from members saying a thread should be closed.

The latest incident may put some off coming however it might sharpen the minds of others so I am saddened to see that some here want the talking to stop.

Tried Basa or Balsa (I forget the name) from a supermarket a few weeks ago and found it quite nice for a change from cod or haddock.

A small hovercraft would probably cost less than the fuel for that helicopter in one rescue, with a hovercraft if you only transfer one at a time it doesn't matter as there's less time restraint, a falling tide won't matter as the recieving boat could still be in the channel.
Could the small hovercraft make a crossing or might it need air lifting in Thunderbirds style.

Any recommendations for an effective fender cleaner?
Have just priced up a full new set and it seems a lot purely to look nice when the old ones are perfectly functional. She has 8 standard, 4 ball and a bow fender... £😱
Elbow Grease Ray. Can be found @ £1 a bottle in cheap stores, also good for cleaning under the bonnet of cars.
