I see that there is a potential buyer.

If it does indeed happen (and of course buying a Boatyard is not as simple as buying your lunch), then I think an owner who is actually interested in running a Boatyard would be a very good thing for that site.

I believe that the new owner will impress you.

I wonder what reason there could be for this, other than cost?

The cost of living you mean? Oh and the lousy weather so far perhaps.

Paid my £849 last week.  The visitor tolls are crazy prices though, surely 1 month should be 1/12 of the annual cost with maybe 10% for admin.

Sounds like the BA want to discourage short term visitors.

That was my thinking, 1/12 plus admin.

Thanks to OBB and C.Ricko for their help, along with a couple of ex bgm neighbours who provided emergency cover which wasn't needed.

Then disarster darling: the head of my cleaning brush fell off!

At least it wasn`t you that fell off the boat!

Thanks for the burger and drinks

We are up for the week, a nice relaxing time with a couple of small jobs on the list.

Yesterday Pauline found a puddle in the drawer unit under the basin in the rear cabin. I pulled all the drawers out and found a pin hole leak in the Flexi hose to the monoblock mixer tap.

What a pain in the butt it turned out to be. No one had replacement hoses so it needed a new tap.

That meant I had to remove the basin worktop to be able to get to the inset basin to get the taps out

If I was a small framed contortionist it would have been a struggle, the refit the basin and worktop and reseal the whole lot.

Unfortunately I am too tall, wide and old.

The Sheerline needed the rear door lock replacing, Guess what, they aren't made any more, I found a near match but no luck getting it to fit. Having swapped parts between the two and straighten a few bent bits I managed to refit the original lock back in place. Of course the lever handle set no longer lines up, next job, find a handle set that I can 'adjust' to fit.

As tomorrow's weather is looking good then tools can stay packed away, time for a cruise and lunch.

If one flexi as burst I would replace all.

Anyone tried the Ram yet? :default_norty:

Just to let you know, open for drinks but not yet serving food, you are allowed to take your own food in and use their cutlery.

I wonder if this was triggered by the planning refusal for the floating pods in the marina.

Planning refusal was the reason given when the news first broke back last summer.

I just hunted through my sent folder with a view to resending and I can't find it, my head wasn't very good when I emailed as I was suffering from a chest infection so I may have typed it and hit the wrong button, not even in drafts folder so....

Sorry Paul I may have blamed you for not replying to an email I didn't send :default_blush:

    I'll try again.

This why some meds say Do Not Operate Machinery!

I emailed and not yet had a reply,  must be a couple of weeks now, not a good response.

Hi @Smoggy, I mentioned this to Paul last night and he was sure that every enquiry had received a response. Might it be in spam folder or he asks that you use sales@swancraft.co.uk as an alternative to reach him.

does anyone have any news on the new inn at rockland,

i understood the family were coming out last october,  has anyone took over

Still saying Closed, hearing that the couple now back at The Ram were considering it before The Ram became vacant and as they had it before they chose to go back.

  12. I used to do a lot of work in Windsor castle and associated buildings in the area as a vetted background checked engineer to the point where most staff knew me by my first name and I still had to produce photo ID to sign in and be allocated an escort every single time which was a PITA but I looked at it as protection for me should anything ever happen whilst I was there.

You can expect a bag check and maybe even a swipe over with a wand.

  13. Will add photo soon.

Have a moulded ring holder, the type which is screwed to say a roof and the ring sits within. Used but in good condition with no cracks around the screw holes. Currently a cream colour but will need painting.

Dont really know what to ask for it so open to offers. Collection from Brundall.
