I don't think that anybody has suggested to anyone how to run a business. It is the future of Broadland that makes a rounded conversation. Points thought about by some are different from points thought about by others and that us why this forum is a good place.

    Kindest Regards Marge and Parge

I doubt that the owners would agree if they read through the doomsayers comments.

  2. With compression joints the olive is the sealing surface not the threads and no PTFE is needed when the fittings are clean and new, if reusing old fittings that weep then two wraps of tape around the olive can cure any weepage. Copper olives are softer than brass olives and people tend to use them.

  3. No worries as OBO is a cousin :default_icon_e_biggrin:

Mine doesnt boost both types of signal and just to be clear, I didnt buy my box of tricks from that linked site only that the box of tricks and the antenna look the same but it is a minefield out there with clones and copies.

On functionality etc, the cables are much longer than required so need hiding which isnt easy as the cables are thick and unwieldy and the pre fitted N type connectors are twice the size of the cable so if running them through bulkheads to the outside you will need split grommets which are not supplied. Other than that just plug in and rotate the antenna for strongest signal.

I'm wanting to find something that booster a poor mobile phone signal i.e. something like a 'mobile phone signal booster' that amplifies a weak signal, that your phone can then connect to, for both voice calls and data usage - anybody used one / got any experience of one?

I brought a booster and the signal bars on the phone went from 0 up to 3 or 4 with it showing 5 bars on the odd day. It wasnt one in the link below but does look exactly the same. RV sites have 12v versions.

Right. I have ordered the £150 unit. It comes as the heater alone. I don't know if the fuel pump comes with it or not, but pipes, silencer etc do not. I shall be using the existing fittings. If the heater kills me... well we live and learn, and I'll never buy another one.

    Time for an update MM?

I think that blaming a pubs demise, even only in part, on the ban on smoking, is grasping at straws.

As a smoker at the time it was easy to see the decline in the numbers of people going to a pub over time and all the people who said that they would go if the ban was applied never turned up!

  7. Have fond memories of the old Humbers as my mum and dad also ran them for private hire and weddings in the early 70`s.

Neighbours must of thought that I was nuts washing cars on a Saturday morning in the rain :default_wacko:

  8. Glad you enjoyed it. The menu recently under went a few tweaks here and there and a few of the ale pumps cant be seen from the food side so you have to ask what is on offer or pop your head in the sports bar to see them (why do pubs do this?)

Yep you are correct about the "last of the summer wine" old guys being in there who with others have returned since The Ram in the villiage closed again and I am glad you remembered about the I.O.U but fear we may have to meet in either the Kings Head or The Shoulder of Mutton before too long.

Hopefully that's not provided by the AA or RAC.... Both of those companies are imploding at the moment, mainly because they have masses of debt from their PE owners.

Dont ask either to attend for a wheel change.
