  1. On that theme is a Jafa cake a cake or a biscuit.
  2. The ice was around 1" thick today and the White Heron serves Southwold, Ghost Ship and Wherry(maybe more) but some taps are in the other bar so best to ask. Lots of diferent gin for Mrs NN but I fear the place wont be to your liking.
  3. Thought that was the MX-5 or has the hat been passed to the Z3
  4. Fine looking car in that colour and becoming collectable, you might want to hang on to the Phaeton for the twisty roads if you enjoy that sort of driving.
  5. Fear not, I reckon that box has been wrapped in a couple of Halfords finest exhaust bandages and is already fitted to a van in Doncaster!
  6. Ruddy hell, I got a food question right!
  7. Is it that one has a closed top and the other is open.
  8. Sometime in the 80s I can recall being sent to service two water booster pumps somewhere in London, they were Grundfos vertical pumps where every section had a seal, a bearing and an impellor and the water which started at the bottom with low pressure left the top section with a vastly increased pressure. They were a pain to work on as every mating face had to be spotless for the seal to work and being all pressed stainless steel there was sharp burrs everywhere waiting to slice a finger. When I saw them my heart sank as both pumps were in a sorry state leaking water everywhere but I thought what the hell I have all day. Wrong! It turned out that they supplied water to a very large water cooled computer in a room behind the wall where I was working and to cut the story short there was a point where it would of overheated within five minutes if I hadnt completed the job! No tears but a lot of sweat and blood that day!
  9. Anybody remember what the old pink bandage was called where you wrapped it around a silencer and the heat when you started the engine made it harden?
  10. Thought one of the big boys brought and shut down the real Mikuni brand some years back. There is one perhaps MV, or possibly AV with bad reviews regarding customer service and warranty claims.
  11. Different heating systems have different procedures for problem solving, one size does not fit all so best to know the make and model of the boiler and ask on a pro plumbers forum before starting.
  12. Really wouldnt advise people to do more than a simple venting of air on radiators to try and cure a problem this time of year.
  13. If the majority bring their own jerry cans for fuel then these people will start to dismantle the infrastructure of the broads. So how long before you start to take those cans home full of waste as yard owners decided it isnt worth doing pump outs alone if they have to pay to have their large waste holding tanks emptied as some do. Much like small shops and pubs - Use it or lose it.
  14. I would say it may have a little to do with it. Buying the large fuel tank and the pump which needs licenced calibrating every year or two would be quite a few thousand pounds, plus the extra insurance and buying the fuel in advance to sell would be like playing Russian roulette with prices changing every week at the moment due to you know what. Most fuel sales would be in the warmer months and making a tiny profit on a sale of 30 or 50 litres whilst downing tools to do so with a smile wouldnt be my idea of getting rich quick.
  15. Sorry Cal, It was the comment about mooring and the labour to operate the pump which is the same that I refered too, not paperwork and declaring the split.
  16. Got to see them play live at Wembley Arena in 1980 and it was a huge disappointment, she was clearly err, unwell, being unsteady on her feet and out of time with the rest of the band who did their best to cover for her. That said, when she was on form either writting or singing she was one of the best of her time.
  17. My Sterling modified sine wave inverter causes none of the problems previously mentioned so guess the problems highlighted are down to the quality and perhaps the age of the inverter.
  18. Thought they still needed to be mounted as high as possible so wouldnt a mast/ pole be required on low boats and arent they 12v powered?
  19. I see that a line of moored boats besides the pub have been moved so looking likely that there will be visitor moorings.
  20. Is it still a sore subject?
  21. Have you just used the Blow-In card on me !
  22. Thanks Mouldy, yes Ive seen that picture before either on the interweb or in a book. Knew of the beginings and the demise of the once well known on the waters mom and pops style shop. Especially the ice cream in the summers I believe.
