This shortage was planned, some weeks ago one of the supermarkets said that rather than have a load that is heavy for it's volume, they would rather load up the lorries with lighter more essential items, therefore getting more on the lorry. Personally I think buying bottled water a total waste of money, and plastic!

If they have a refund on their bottles, just like lemonade bottles in the old days , they would get most of them back. The trouble is, that unless you have the original purchase paperwork they will not refund. How many people keeper that paperwork? Not that many.

I think there are still plenty of people who could stand those sort of hours, but when they see their earnings disappear in increasingly higher rents from the greedy pubcos, that's what deters them.
