  1. Hi all, we have just bought out 1st motor cruiser (thank you for your help finding her in my other post :) we would like to change her name (prepared to crack a bottle of champers to avoid superstition) so need the painted name on the stern and bow repainted. I know that vinyl is probably the way to go, but the original painted name needs painting over. Can anyone recommend someone local that could do the job. Shes a Ferry Marina Horning. Thanks!
  2. Ofcourse! We are novices here and your chat is sooo informative and helpful! Thank you all so much BTW we even got a mooring with it, which suits us to early next year. (I confess, though, we had to go a bit over budget to get The One,but she was too beautiful to pass by!) We cant wait to share our journey with you all (pun intended!) So excited! Now looking at insurance and the shall we/shant we survey dilemma to get fully comp..
  3. Thank you for all your help! We had an offer accepted on a seamaster 23 this morning. Exciting times!!
  4. Thank you Griff, this is exactly what I said in my post. I was hoping by putting out my plea, someone would know someone who has something suitable for sale before going to ebay/gumtree etc. We have done lots of research, I understand the climate and fortunately are in no hurry to find the perfect boat for us. So I'll keep all my boxes that need ticking and like house hunting put the right boat for us to appear down to chance. Happy boating all and hope to meet you out on the water some time 🤞🌞😎
  5. Thank you OBB but 10k really is all we have to spend 😫 Maintenance is expected, repairs are a different matter and far more expensive imo!

  7. This is all really useful information, guys. Thank you so much. We dont want anything too big at this time. More expensive to moor and harder for a novice to park but I'm taking your advice and going to look at the stock at ely at the weekend. Wish me luck! We may be back here next week asking on tips on how to find an available mooring !
  8. Thanks for this list Cal I wasnt aware of either of these boat yards. Very handy.
  9. I don't have the boat yet, still trying to find one. It may take me 6 months at this rate 😳
  10. Thank you for the link, but our budget is 10k and we want one ready to go as we don't know enough about boats to do repairs.
  11. I cant seem to find the post your referring to. Would it be possible to send me a link. Many thanks
  12. Hi, we (along with many many other people it seems) are looking for our first power cruiser. We have a budget of 10k and would like a clean reliable boat with a stand up cabin, double berth, cooker, sink and loo. I've tried the usual places, but most seem to sell before they even get advertised on online. So I though I'd try this friendly group to see if anyone knows where there may be something suitable. Thank you :)
