  1. You'll still be a better sight than some you'll see around the Norfolk area
  2. As with everything in life Jean you've gotta have fun with it, have a laugh, and just keep smiling. Thanks for sharing

    Poor blooming phone
  4. RIP Alan, I hope you are happy with your lovely lady once again
  5. I have managed Horning Staithe many a time, both in and out of season, however as popular as it is it really is one of those blink and you'll miss it opportunity type of moorings. As Bluebell says above, you normally have to go for a tighter than you'd care to try spaces but it's all good fun fitting into a super tight spot and enjoying your 10 pints in the local pubs with a smug sense of satisfaction

Yes after fees and postage you would probably do well to get £25 on ebay and the like. Somewhere like Cex would probably give you about £18 cash or £25 as a store voucher but it's better than just being thrown into the back of the drawer for a few years
  7. Our paths actually crossed that day when you moored up at Potter Heigham (on the BA moorings, you were closest to the Bungalows). I was moored on the Staithe further down the Thurne Whilst you were busy tying your lines I walked past you in my red cap and hoodie and we said a brief hello before I braved the flooded depths to find the footpath once again, you won't remember Unfortunately I was unaware who was on what boat at that time, but I shall look out for Springers Retreat in future
  8. I have to admit that whilst I am aware of this coffee shop, and I do love coffee, I haven't actually called in yet. Usually I am a little busy in the bar at the Hotel or over the road at the Kings Head (great outdoor spot, give it a try) but I shall look for a morning coffee at the Riverside to give it a try after your recommendation
  9. Aye, it is at the old Wayfarers Cafe beside Ludham Bridge. Whilst it is kind of open it doesn't fully open for a week or two yet
  10. I'm glad I stay healthy and never come out of The Falgate when I am at Potter Heigham as those cakes look like they would do serious damage to my waistline Enjoying your story and pictures very much DavidH
