Are you a privateer as well? We will be in a hireboat shortly but as you know we have been boating for many year in both sectors, but at no time would we be so rude or deliberately careless towards a fellow boater. What a complete and utter Pr.t. .

We live in Worlingham near to Beccles and so yes we do support the local economy. We use all of our local shops to stock the boat when we come on holiday. This was a really well thought out original post from a local business and without local businesses the Broads would just not be the same. Take for example Beccles , you dont see empty shops or charity after charity shops but little bespoke shops selling everything anyone could wish for. Probably quite unique now and that is its beauty, around every corner and little alley there are some smashing little shops , bars etc. Long may it remain so. Is it me , or is anyone else trying to get their head around the fact that all of a sudden this is about liveaboards. This is worse than Chinese Whispers.

Plus now they have a power cut. Think I will stay in the UK.

At the time all of this happened I was very ill (thankfully now fully recovered) and hubby was also finding clambering into the engine beyond him, coupled with lifting heavy batteries gas bottles etc we decided that the time had come to look to hiring once I was on the mend again. Selling your boat is like cutting off your arm quite frankly and all you want to do is get it over and done with asap. The stress of it all, was on top of everything else going on enough, so we agreed to the lower offer. In hindsight I wish we had held off and also I wish I had been in a position health wise to strip her of the expensive items I left on board including a set of curtains that Judith from Acle had just made us, I never did see those hanging or the new canopy. Anyway you cannot go back and making the most of everyday from now on is the name of the game.

Thanks to St Olaves Marina , we lost a lot of money on our sale of our boat thanks to the suspicion of osmosis, they convinced the buyer to drop us nearly £8.000 off the sale price. A right con, and negativity because we had an older boat that was in tip top condition and we had spent in excess of £20,000 on her , thanks to this osmosis fear.
