  1. Daughter in law has contact the guy who is selling the grate oin the photo in the USA but he will not ship to the UK so she has asked him to forward it to a pal Connecticut and she will send over for her. Thank you for all of your help.
  2. Thank you for the link, good grief I could just sit down to that cheese on the scraper. I have never heard of a scraper before but like you use a box grater. I try during the year to find unusual small things for their tree presents, but nearly 29 quid I think I will pass on this occasion. Definitely getting the little knife sharpener though.
  3. My son and daughter in law and two daughters and their pal have been having a weeks holiday in Switzerland. They are completely mad climbing and tobogganing down mountains but there you go. Whilst there in the apartment they found in the utensils this cheese grater. As they were so struck by it I thought - Christmas pressie -. I cannot find one anywhere. Has anyone ever seen anything like this for sale anywhere.
  4. I clicked into the link and was promptly told off that I should not be accessing this site.
  5. Sorry but is it only men that get bored. it seems so to me. I can always find a job to do in doors , they find me. I am never bored. Hubby at this time of year is bored stiff. Cannot get out in the garden which he loves. So yes I think it is a male thing.
  6. Saying all that I do really miss the web cam at The Wherry at Outlon Broad.
  7. Try these two. http://www.hamptonbeach.org/beach-cam/ http://www.hamptons.com/Hamptons-Beach-Cam#.WKCDzvmLSM9 The second is the one you said you were having trouble with, I have just been on there, lots of snow on the beach. I am going to try your link to AIS Marine Traffic
  8. i also like to look at The Hamptons and dream. Quite snowy there this morning. http://www.hamptons.com/Hamptons-Beach-Cam#.WKBGS_mLSM9 and at Blakeney http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/norfolk/hi/people_and_places/nature/newsid_8419000/8419070.stm
  9. Where is the photo at the bottom of your post taken. I can vouch that Norwich has snow, we had a lot overnight here near to Beccles.
  10. New programme for Channel 4 "May the Best Boat Win"...
  11. There is always one .... M M go sit in the corner. Savoury Rice I have always used and it doesn't fail to do the Delia method. Knob of butter in a large frypan that has a lid, let it melt add chopped onion. then add half a pint of long grain rice , stir until coated with the butter and onion, Add a cinnamon stick and a pinch of salt, then add a pint of boiling water from the kettle, stir and put the lid on at a simmer and leave alone for 10 mins. After 10 mins turn off the heat , still leave lid on (don't open) and then your rice is fluffy and separate.
  12. Consistency depends on the cook in my opinion, in my time I have managed to annihilate, and wreck, all manner of types of rice. I am in favour of basmati as 9 times out of 10 it is fluffy and separate and fits the bill.
  13. Gosh Alan what did you do to use all of that fuel. Mind you if you went around at a scary speed I can understand needing two pump outs. Give anyone the jitters.
  14. I have just been doing my Sainsburys shop for delivery and I notice that the Spice Taylor is on at 90p off so I have ordered 2 this time. It is a pity that Morrisons in Beccles do not sell the Spice Taylor mixes.
  15. Crumbs Gracie , are you sure you haven't been reading too many Mills and Boon books........ Cheshire Cat .. 52 I am nearly 72, make the most of every minute because before you know another blasted 10 years have gone by.
  16. Second method was that 3/4 cup of water and same for rice? May be you could add the recipes on your page please?
  17. Loved the absorption method. However not everyone has a lovely wood/coal burner on board. So could you put this in the oven on lowest setting perhaps using foil to seal and not your best tea towel. Just a thought.
  18. That will be good if it is. So hopefully staff will be moved to Horning.
  19. Many a true word spoken in jest. I wasn't born until 1945. They ended the war when I arrived.
  20. I have an iceberg lettuce in the fridge , what fool is going to pay £20 for a ruddy tasteless lettuce.
  21. I wonder what will happen to holiday cottages there.
  22. Can we assume that the pump out facility, fuel and water will remain open to the public. Speedtriple , you tease, now you have got us all thinking allsorts. I just hope what you were told is not a negative but a positive thing.
  23. How sad , I am concerned about the staff, I cannot recall the name of the chap who used to see us each time. Isnt that awful. Phil was always good to us, we just used to love his bills, they were never what he quoted but you knew you were in for more rather than less but the quality was second to none. Such a shame.
  24. Just hang on to your syrup a little bit later early evening by all accounts. It is like Spring out there could not have picked a better day.
