  1. Is it just me or does anyone else rue the day the Tunis cake was no more at christmas. I am going to have a go at making one.
  2. Can I second what Iain has to say. A very big thank you from us three myself hubby and my sister who lives Kent. It has been as good as going on holiday ourselves. Such lovely photos. Do take care and have a very Happy Christmas and an even better New Year.
  3. Merry Christmas to you all and here's to a Happy and Healthy New Year. . . . Just looked at the smilies - you wouldn't want to be stood in the bus queue with that lot would you? Especially when the Kings Arms has just turned out. The Santa with the spinning eyes looks familiar , especially when looking in the mirror at this time of the morning.
  4. Would you say that a boat like Pacific Diamond would be just too long to turn up there. I would think so.
  5. Thank you Bill, now I can send it to her. She wont know one mooring from the next but it is keeping us and her occupied with the Broads at a time when we normally are not seeing any of it. It looks rather tight to turn up there.
  6. I was interested to see where the mooring is? I have been sending the photos to my elderly sister and needed to put a place to the photo.
  7. I popped into Lathams about a fortnight ago and got most of my Christmas Cards, wrapping papers, Ribbon for wrapping, labels, bows well you name I got it. Their Christmas crackers are always good as with their candles. Fortnum and Mason it isnt but who can afford that.
  8. Now you have been around most of the Broads in December can you let us know what the availability of water and pumps outs were there for you.
  9. Such a shame that we dont get the web cam on there to actual go up the river. I used to love watching this.
  10. when I say Waitrose I meant in North Walsham.
  11. Gosh if only I lived near a Waitrose I would be able to buy lots of things I cannot buy in Beccles, ie.e Vol et vents pastry frozen together with frozen Chinese Pancakes, which I need for a recipe. Oh well we will all have to move to North Walsham. Glad you enjoyed your day in Cromer, did you buy Cromer crab? Where are you moored tonight? You do realise you are keeping the rest of the boating fraternity entertained. Monica.
  12. Looking at the Cliftonville Hotel at Cromer web cam, it looks like you and the Starlings at Cromer today. Have you just gone for the day?
  13. In the last photo of Ludham Bridge, is that another hire craft or a privateer behind you?
  14. I have just poured myself a cold glass of white wine. You enjoy yourselves you Nogs. So pleased everything has worked out just fine. When do you hand her back - and I dont mean the wife!!
  15. I am sighing a sigh of relief for you. Thank goodness she was like a millpond. Someone must be looking down on you. Thank you for the photos.
  16. Yes we will be thinking of you as well. Can you try and take some snaps on your journey for us armchair boaters at this time of year.
  17. Winds are not quite so bad today and crossing times for Breydon are good. Will you cross today? If so I will be thinking of you both.
  18. No and dont - always better to be a day or two late than risk life and limb. Added after your photo .... and what better place to sit out a storm.
  19. Great minds think alike I was thinking oh my god they have got to cross Breydon. Should be interesting.
  20. Is this you escaping ??? At one point there was a good close up of you but the darn thing didnt seem to want to know and take a snap so this is the best.
  21. Bet this is really a bind for Scotland. Satnavs I should imagine are having fun even if no one else is.
  22. Why cant we have ads like that over here rather than some of the tripe that is on the TV at the moment. It made me think of my Mum in the Home , she is not alone but is in her own world alone with Alzheimer's Dementia. She knows no one and hardly speaks now. Make the most of your families while you can.
  23. Make plenty as they are rather moorish (if that is how you spell it).
  24. The trouble is marine cookers are expensive and they have to be the correct ones for a boat. Ours was nearly £700 but I am sure there are others a lot cheaper. As long as they have an automatic cut out on them I dont see any problem,. I know how you feel if the boat is up for sale, sods law something like this would happen. May be Ludham Bridge have one in their stock , would it be free standing or fitted.
