  1. This is the photo that I took in 2010 at How Hill
  2. Thank you. I have tried to use the 'snapshot' function but the piccies are so tiny. I certainly will not be saving as I used to which usually gavea 'live' caption. I just wondered what on earth I had done so wrong.
  3. Up until now if I had seen something of interest on say the Wroxham Web Cam, I just right clicked and saved a copy of the photo. Now all of a sudden because I am using Google Chrome it saves into some weired Google Chrome file which takes a hell of a lot of usage. I have managed this morning to delete these files (God knows how) I have cleared my history and that seems to have done the trick. Has anyone else had this problem.
  4. We were glued yesterday to the cricket. Watched until the last and what a fantastic result for England. Also what fantastic oppositiion, their attitude could be well copied by some of the losing opponents in other sports. The Kiwis were the first to pat Root on the back when he got his hundred. Roll on Saturday........
  5. I see now I am a dimbo, I imagined the front screen of the boat and all that weather coming at you as if your car windscreen was not there. I didnt realise there was a screen 'up top'. Thank you for the explanation. Thank you for the links. Doesnt it look a smart boat. Very nice.
  6. I simply folded the other half (and i don`t mean Karen either) down and left it like it all week. With the wind blowing so strong, i thought if the screen is`nt supported correctly, it might ALL break. Judging by the weather you describe it must have been a bit drafty round the nether regions , how did you keep the rain out?
  7. We got to the boat and was disappointed to find only half of the upper helm screen in place, I have thorough enjoyed this read. Thank you. For the unelightened (me) how did you proceed with only half of the upper helm screen? Especially as it wasnt exactly bikini weather.
  8. I see there was a fire lit on the mooring , that certainly put that out.
  9. We saw some fine examples of this specimen at Howe Hill in June one year. A really hot summer's day and they were everywhere.
  10. When we were on the boat we did as Alan above. We had about 5 5ltr bottles on board that we filled direct from the tap at the Marina and used this for washing up, the kettle, boiling veg etc. We also took 1 ltr bottles of Spring Water for drinking. The tank water was for showing, washing etc. At home we always use tap water for everything , yes we drink it as well.
  11. Good luck England with these last overs
  12. Not exactly gripping at the moment . 4 wickets gone. Need a minor miracle this evening.
  13. We are watching it as well. Need some quick wickets to put smiles on faces. Weather so far behaving itself.
  14. Dont tell Brian , he already thinks I spend too much time on here.
  15. As I am someone who tells it how it is, I feel I must post and say that I have received an almost full refund directly into our bank from Boulters. Thank you Donna.
  16. I thought i heard Fire Engines last night coming along the Barnby Bends, It is so quiet here you can here things from miles around. I see that our pet shop burnt down in Beccles last night. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/bartram_s_pet_store_in_beccles_hit_by_major_fire_last_night_1_4107694
  17. Yesterday morning, officers responded to calls that a man armed with a gun had been seen in the town’s Smallgate area behind the NatWest bank. It is not known at this stage if the incidents are connected. On reading the newspaper report - I did chuckle at the fact that a man had been reported at the rear of the NatWest bank holding a pistol and they did not know if this was related to the incident. Makes us locals sound like a load of gun toting renegades. I wonder if he was also riding a mobility scooter and clutching his pension book.
  18. Well I live and didn't know anything about it. The very worst that usually happens here is a bike goes missing. You are never more safe than in Beccles.
  19. Lesson of the day, leave your money to family, these charities are very rich now. They appeal to old folk with old fashioned values, trouble is they are just businesses these days.
  20. Oh dear too much information....
