  1. Myself and Chris are travelling down tomorrow to the boat late evening, hopefully it will be cooler and it gives us an extra day on the boat, sadly I have packed Chris's fishing tackle into the car so I will have to practice "that a nice fish" etc, they all look the same to me and none seem to come with out batter on them. Chris picked out a good spot earlier in the year. We are showing new owners around the boat on Tuesday afternoon. Regards Alan
  2. Hi Andrew I am sure Grendel has an effigy of Griff for the model.
  3. A number of our owners have suffered from cancer or leukemia, some wished to talk over their condition with myself or other members of the team and others sadly switched off and asked to sell their shares, others are still with us and are still enjoying their boating. Illness in any form affects us all in different ways, it is how we cope with it that effects us and our families. Alan
  4. Most grills on boats are poor at best and produce dried bread rather than toast.
  5. Welcome to the joys of motoring.
  6. Tan was always at the helm apart from mooring, bridges and if there were too many yachts. Alan
  7. Yorkshiremen are not tight, they are just careful with their pennies.
  8. Sadly the Broads Authority continue with their determination to alter the Norfolk & Suffolk Broads into a National Park by stealth instead of concentrating on the job they are supposed to be doing.
  9. I have never liked football in any form it just not interest me at all.

  11. A few years ago Ranworth Breeze was hit by a boat from the same yard causing damage to the rubber around the bathing platform, because we could not allow time for the boat to be out of service the said yard would do the work but we made the mistake to have it done locally whilst the winter service work was being done. The local work done was so bad that I advised the yard to not settle the bill, we would not make the same mistake again.
  12. Have a word with Tanya or Nick at Brian Wards to see what they recommend and remember they offer a forum discount of 10%.
  13. I have never been able to moor there it has been full with boats including a Broads Boat, I tried to moor on what I thought was a pontoon extension only to see the canoe sign on the top of the pontoon.
  14. Hello Helen We have seen a number of paddle board training sessions when we have been on the boat. They are welcomed to the cold and murky water in the marina. Regards Alan
  15. Helen the plan is the have all the syndicate boats together. Regards Alan
  16. Yes it a new location about half a mile from the moorings. I wish Caroline and her team all the best with the new location.
  17. Currently 39 outside in Sheffield its going to be an hot night tonight they are forcasting still 30 at 9.00 pm
  18. Jon my brother-in-law went there after our last allocation in June after leaving the boat.
  19. My biggest bugbear with the information from the Yarmouth Yacht Station is that they do not give the height of the tides so I usually look at the Broads Authority tide tables which do.
  20. Hi Helen my eldest son 40 this October wife and grandson are coming to the boat during my allocation from 30th August my youngest son now 37 would rather do anything than be on a boat, not even the temptation of having nothing to pay could temp him. Regards Alan
  21. Hi Mike I did not want to confuse the issue but I can remember that the garage in our village (attended service) the girls used to fill up the petrol check the oil, remember those Castrol cans they used and the Redex hand pumps for the two stroke. Petrol was 4 shillings and eight pennies. By the sound of it you were on a similar wage to myself as an apprentice electrician I started at 1 and three happence per hour Regards Alan
  22. 1971 after decimalization one local garage had petrol at 29 pence per gallon and my mate filled both of his 20 gallon tanks in his Land Rover, the days of free wheeling hubs to get that extra 2 MPG.
  23. Hi Grendel, I am of the opinion that £1.00 per liter is still too expensive.
  24. We always stock up on something to cook incase we can not get anywhere to moor. Our oven serves us well and I can cook almost anything but tend to cook something very plain to help with my diet, but will spice things up for the crew. If we can we will go to a pub for lunch or in the evening. Regarding takeaways they are far too expensive for what you get and you can cook these on the boat or very similar for the fraction of the price. Regards Alan
