The Berney Arms will never make anyone rich, but if run by an owner there is a pleasant living to be made. If a tenant is in there, rent has to be low or at least affordable for the place to offer a living.

I hate to imagine the "low flying teddy" count at Oulton Broad this evening. I've just watched Anglia news talking about the National Park , the Norfolk Broads. I reckon Peter must be running out of blood vessels to burst.

The day plugging my computer in, helps me, is the day I throw the towel in and try to join a monastery.

I would say you're a star, but that would mean all the kids sitting around looking at you.

Well, it's 03:50 and I'm lying in bed worrying about things. First worry was that I couldn't remember the name of the chap who's dog salivated when a bell rang. All I could think of was Pavlova, then all I could think of was a dog in a ballerina's outfit. The night was not going well. No good, I had to Google it. It was Pavlov, but now I couldn't shake the image of a ballet dancing, salivating dog out of my mind, and now I'm wide awake. My other worry playing on my mind was... err ... oh how the he'll am I supposed to remember what I was worrying about when all I can think of is this damned dog doing the "dying swan" routine?

If one is nice all the time, it ceases to be nice and becomes normal. When that happens, nobody knows when one is being nice. Firstly I would like people to realise when I'm being nice, and second, nobody has ever called me "normal".

Not a problem. By the time it comes we will all have finished being nice to each other and normality will have been restored.

If run well, the pleasure boat is more than a match for the greyhound. Bigger car park and nicer views. -

I don't need a tool for condensation, I find Nyx gets plenty without one. -
Nyx, both nights, not sure of the prat's name on board, Austin Healey or something.

I phoned the Coop to discuss the hike in the premium. Their reply was to offer the same policy at a lower price but with a lower estimated annual mileage. The increase went from 50% to 12%. Make of that what you will.

I've just had my car insurance quote for the next 12 months. It's gone up from £375 to £665 Has anyone else had such a hike? Does anyone else use Coop? Has Dr Packman gone into the insurance business?

It's getting a reputation for running out of beer, but no, it's not very busy.

I think we can learn a bit from our canal narrow boat friends here. I seem to recollect they use fenders made from rope covered chain. An 18 to 24 inch long version of one of those would sit comfortably between the Hull and the quayside.

Very wet and muddy at the moment and high water levels throughout.
