  1. 👍 New tap and hoses fitted.
  2. We are up for the week, a nice relaxing time with a couple of small jobs on the list. Yesterday Pauline found a puddle in the drawer unit under the basin in the rear cabin. I pulled all the drawers out and found a pin hole leak in the Flexi hose to the monoblock mixer tap. What a pain in the butt it turned out to be. No one had replacement hoses so it needed a new tap. That meant I had to remove the basin worktop to be able to get to the inset basin, to get the taps out If I was a small framed contortionist it would have been a struggle, then refit the basin and worktop and reseal the whole lot. Unfortunately I am too tall, wide and old. The Sheerline needed the rear door lock replacing, Guess what, they aren't made any more, I found a near match but no luck getting it to fit. Having swapped parts between the two and straighten a few bent bits I managed to refit the original lock back in place. Of course the lever handle set no longer lines up, next job, find a handle set that I can 'adjust' to fit. As tomorrow's weather is looking good then tools can stay packed away, time for a cruise and lunch.
  3. In line with successive Governments over the years, I have finally downsized my navy by one third. The Shetland, White Knight, has gone off the Broads to rivers new. The Sheerline 740 will take on the White Knight name at Easter with appropriate superstitious ceremony and champagne.
  4. Welcome back to the original Boss.
  5. Who wants a 568ml of beer 🍻
  6. Good afternoon, Please be aware that there is currently a fallen tree blocking part of the River Yare. The tree is located on the upstream end of Thorpe Island between the Town House PH and the Rivergarden PH. The tree has been hazard marked and lights are attached to those marks. Rangers are aware and are planning to fully remove the tree on Monday 12 February. Navigators are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the area. Thank you for your cooperation. https://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/boating/navigating-the-broads/boating-news Best, Tom Tom Waterfall Senior Communications Officer Direct dial 01603 756034 Broads Authority Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road, Norwich NR1 1RY
  7. It may have been 'informal' advice from the planning department, a very useful service from the majority of planning departments.
  8. I sold one of our old Transits for scrap, we found out it was exported to Somalia. I half expected to see it on the news with the company sign writing, the roof cut open and a machine gun mounted.
  9. Given this quote from the existing owners, "They said the reason for the sale was that, after more than a decade of ownership, they wanted to focus on their other company, a strategic land and property development business". I doubt very much that it will be snapped up by someone looking to redevelop the site for housing. The refusal of the pods makes it clear that further development is limited.
  10. I wonder if this was triggered by the planning refusal for the floating pods in the marina.
  11. Helen, It is just picking up on the nearest river. If you click on the location bar it opens up a list of broads location. I assume it will work on all locations but is marketed as a Broads app. Edit, It doesn't appear to load info outside of the Broads.
  12. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow. As well as mourning your loss also celebrate Ian's life and achievements and remember the good times you all had together.
  13. We don't always get notice of minor updates but can choose when to update to a new version, that is a decision made by our brilliant Tech team. As the forum is hosted by a major provider we have the best security available. I screen all new members and they automatically go on preauthorisation.
  14. "It's better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission." 😁
  15. Been there, done that, far too often.
  16. I phoned with a query early January, answered straight away and advice given.
  17. BA notice for info Unfortunately due to a power issue in the immediate area, all of the electric charging points at our Ranworth Staithe mooring are currently out of action. UK Power Networks are aware of the issue and we are hopeful that it will be rectified soon. We will issue an update when the posts are operational again.

  19. The charge is 77p a unit, which is what they are buying in at. It is also the cost they are paying for there own substantial consumption. Like many, they seem to have fixed at the peak of the increases but at least have held off passing on the new rate. Fortunately I loaded up a couple hundred pounds worth before the increase. Hopefully the fixed contract is a short one. It is a price I am willing and able to pay as I really like my mooring.
  20. It is a pre paid card system with an annual connection charge. It appears that the higher rate has been in force for some time but the increase has been held back. There is no mark up on what they are charged. The last couple of years have been a gamble on getting fixed commercial contracts and many firms have got it wrong with hindsight.
  21. Having just found out the unit charge has increased to 77p a unit, up from 60p a unit, what are others paying.
  22. Timothy Whites started of as a ship's chandlers.
  23. Showing your age there Grendel 😁
