When planning passage or for other enquiries, please contact Oulton Broad Yacht Station on 01502 531778 or VHF Channel 73. 2. I had one on my calypso, I replaced it with a new one as a previous repair had failed. I did the same on Whitey but beware that if you lose flow it is probably due to the feed filter being blocked with chalk. That was an easy fix fortunately.
  3. Navigation restriction on approaches to Breydon Bridge (A47) Gt. Yarmouth Notice is hereby given that an inspection will be carried out on Breydon Bridge, which involves lifting the nose end of Breydon Bridge into a semi-lifted position. A safety work boat will be present in the channel within the vicinity of the bridge. The works are due to take place on the 9th and 10th April 2024, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 both days. Note: During the above period, navigation will remain open, but the bridge will be unable to lift for larger vessels and the centre span will be closed. Vessels must exercise great care whilst proceeding past the vicinity of the works. Please ensure that the area is taken into consideration for passage planning and when navigating in this area. Grid Reference TG 51629 08036 (shown in red on the plan extract). If travelling across Breydon Water, you will need to pass through Breydon Bridge. Do not risk going through the bridge unless you have sufficient clearance, always check the gauge at the side of the bridge. When approaching go through the right-hand side span and navigate between the two arrows on the bridge. Keep about 100 yards distance from any boat going in the same direction to give yourself room to manoeuvre. Yacht skippers have difficulties in manoeuvring their yachts with their masts down and it is impossible for them to reverse, so motor cruisers should always give way to yachts. All equipment will be lit, and signage will be in place to warn of the restriction. Please contact the Broads Authority, Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1RY Tel (01603) 610734 if additional information is required. Waterways Project Officer March 2024
  4. Electricity supplies at Reedham Yacht Station Due to power supply issues, we regret to inform boaters that it is not possible to use the electric charging posts at the Authority’s Yacht Station at Reedham. Our energy suppliers have informed the Authority that it will take much longer than anticipated to re-connect the electricity supply in this location. Our Quay Rangers will still be assisting boaters to moor free of charge in this location and we will update our webpage on moorings when charging is available again.

Divers will be attending Thursday 28th March to assess the problem and if possible, carry out works to rectify the fault. A further notice will be issued when the lock is operational again. When planning passage or for other enquiries, please contact Oulton Broad Yacht Station on 01502 574946 or VHF Channel 73. 7. What helped the NHS cope and the essential workers to keep us stocked and running was the vast majority of the population doing as they were asked. It really was a joint effort that nearly everyone contributed to and made sacrifices for.
  8. One of the many strange things I noticed during lockdown was that people would cross the road to avoid walking past me. Funny thing is, they still do
  9. All requests for editing will be considered. 😁
  10. Four years since the world suddenly changed and went very quiet. It seems unreal now.
  11. Glad you got moved without incident, I can moor sideways now if I want 😁. Enjoy your new base.
  12. Matron has an 80 year old Beaver lamb fur coat inherited from my mother, it sits in the wardrobe unworn because of zealots who weren't even born when it was made. I understand the objections to this type of farming now as we have moved on as a society and very few new real fur coats are made. What a complete waste of vintage coats though. I see it as no different to driving a classic car, it was made, it survives, get over it. I expect my old 1962 Mercedes would inflame a few of the 'Juice stop oil' brigade if I still had it.
  13. The last one I saw was at Brundall about 5 years ago. Traps were set soon after and there has been no further sightings.
  14. Good afternoon all, Notice is hereby given that Waterway Conservation will be undertaking mud pumping works on Hardley Dyke, off the River Yare. Note that vessels may be temporarily restricted and regulated in their movement in the vicinity of the works from Tuesday 19 March 2024 to Monday 2 April 2024 between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours. Please ensure that the new position is taken into consideration for passage planning and when navigating in this area. 15. I have started a new thread for Loos,
  16. Let's talk about loos. The Sheerline 740 has a manual flush fed with river water. It won't be used much so I am wondering if smell might become an issue with stagnant river water. How easy will it be to feed it from the fresh water tank, using a non return valve. The inlet pipe is around an inch. Will the pumped supply make up for the smaller diameter of the fresh water.
  17. Whitey has a thunderbox direct into the tank below. With a manual type I would guess it needs a good flush to clear it to the tank.
  18. I always add an extra litre of blue, direct down the pan. I was told to do this as the pipe from the tank to the pumpout outlet was quite long. We also put the yard blue straight down from the pan for the same reason.
  19. Good point It is moulded fibreglass.
  20. I fitted an external sensor to my waste tank some years ago. It is a pair of wired metallic strips that lead to a digital lights guage. It tends to be a guide rather than an exact reading. It shows E, 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full. We know we have a couple of days grace when the red light comes on. All you need is access to one side from top to bottom. We opted for this type rather than an intank sensor. I have no idea what make it is but can check over Easter if it helps.
  21. 3 to 5pm, Great time to hold the meeting 😂 That should exclude anyone who works or has children but will appeal to certain academics and the retired.
  22. It's a Sheerline 😂 So that is what you have been hiding all these years, looks a nice boat. 👍
  23. As this incident is now subject to a Police investigation the thread will be locked.
