  1. That looks delicious. The saltiness of the samphire combined with the sweet flesh of the lobster is match we never tire of.
  2. We love to forage for wild herbs in the bushes during our trips on the broads. Which indigenous shrubs will best complement bearded clams?
  3. Possibly bring along some battery powered led lamps for a break on Concerto and get the best of both worlds?
  4. The lidl lobsters are small but good value. I tend to reserve the tail and claw meat and use all the shells etc for a lovely shellfish bisque or the base for a sauce.
  5. Wow - seems the software is programmed to blank it out automatically - how silly!!!!
  6. Why is the word "*****" blanked out in the above posts? It is certainly not a racist term and is very important in Afro Caribbean culture. Political correctness gone mad!
  7. Cannot help except to say that a deltic or paxman valenta engine would attract me! (Obviously not suitable for a broads cruiser). What would be other people's dream engine?
  8. A wonderful aircraft. The extraordinary noise they produce when climbing on full power makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Saw one at Leuchars air show in the early 1990s and then saw the restored one at East Fortune a few years ago.
  9. I had a Citroen C6 for two years. Everything was fantastic about it apart from the cost of spares, servicing and weird electrical gremlins - so typical French really. When it was working it was a lovely car. Got fed up of it and changed to a Mercedes E250 diesel coupe. 50 mpg easy to achieve, cheaper to maintain and has never let me down. Did make sure I went for the small(ish) 17inch alloys though. The 18's and 19's that a lot of people upgrade to generate far more road noise, are easy to damage and the tyres cost a fortune.
  10. That's a shame, hopefully things will seem better today. But if you are really unhappy then there is not much point sitting it out for another five days, especially given the weather is going to get much colder in the next day or so.
  11. The Four Mary's is a nice pub. If you are near Linlithgow and want a good steak there is only one place to go. Champany Inn. It is a 5 minute taxi ride from Linlithgow Station.
  12. Very good news. Should make some tenancies viable again, especially community pubs. Making them buy beer at prices vastly higher than a supermarket sells at meant they really struggled to keep prices reasonable and keep punters happy.
  13. I have sometimes substituted maple syrup for honey when glazing duck breast or legs. Works very well too.
  14. Up here in Scotland we had very few fireworks which suited my Bengal cat Zephyr very well. He spent the evening curled up beside the radiator. I think perhaps that fireworks have become so expensive that people here have stopped buying so many.
  15. I visited whilst on business in London for the day. Very glad I made the effort - a very moving experience.
  16. Another excellent review Robin. Having followed your YouTube channel since the early days I can say that your impartial reviews have become a very useful resource. Ignore any silly comments - it is obvious you are not reading from a script. Your presentation style has naturally become more "polished" with the passing of time, but the content continues to be impartial. Keep up the good work! On the subject of the boat, it is quite impressive, but too many buttons, lights and gadgets for me! However it is clearly a good addition to the broads fleet and will be popular.
  17. You are describing the semi wild mooring at the edge of sektor 4, citadel 9. 4 crystals of nragaron will be enough to guarantee safe mooring.
  18. The Stena Hollandica is a very nice boat. Just a shame it is such an early reveille!
  19. Don't give up the day job.
  20. I have a friend who almost died in a static caravan in the early 1980's. There was a gas heater in the bathroom which he had on while he took a bath. There was no ventilation. You can guess the rest. Luckily he could reach the door from the bath and realised (he felt groggy and noticed the flame on the gas heater was getting smaller) what was happening just in time to open the door before he passed out.
  21. Can one apply to the crown for dispensation to shoot a swan? I would like to try roast swan but am a law abiding citizen.
  22. They eat dog in Korea. Can't see the attraction myself. I'll stick to horse.
  23. Better to use a shotgun. The results of badly aimed arrows can be severe pain and unnecessary suffering for animals.
  24. Swan are apparently quite tasty - a bit like goose. I think the Queen has to give permission before you can kill one for the pot though. These low life who just kill things for some sort of cheap thrill rather than for cooking are scum.
