  1. I wish that were the case. The original sign and posts were removed and later replaced with brand new posts and sign. They may be in the same position but they are new!
  2. Could you write the script??? What is the last thing you would want in the middle of a cycle path - yes, a post for a road sign. How many brain cells are needed to know this won't work
  3. Griff, Good to meet you in the White Horse on Friday! The new wetshed is part of Hall Common Farm, so the adjeacent house and gardens are there but just a bit out of sight!!!! Mike
  4. Congrats to Richardsons - not only winning the Business Development Award but also the Business of the Year in the EDP Business Awards on Thursday evening. Clive looked a little uncomfortable on stage and a rowdy bunch they were, but well deserved.
  5. Jim, I live round the corner from Womack and you shouldn't have any trouble getting a public mooring this time of year. Over the last two weeks there have been spaces most of the time. Mike O
  6. We have just had Serenity compounded and polished in the water by a new local company - Boat Valet Ltd They did a very good job at a very reasonable price so worth considering. Contacts are Dorian 07860 459260 & Ben 07914 680148 Mike O
  7. Andy, Thanks for that, can you PM you contact details and I will get hime to give you a call. MikeO
  8. Jonzo, Thanks for that, I did think of Colin but he doesn't seem to advertise on the forums any longer so thought he may have stopped. I will message him. Mike O
  9. Can anybody recommend a local boat electrician? A firend has just aquired a 27' Seamaster which is in need of some electrical attention. Many thanks - Mike O
  10. Mark, It's probably the same one we saw a couple of times (from the pub) last year. Clearly, he likes the spot.
  11. Interesting topic! As a local - and a boat owner, we have never had an problems with either Stag or Hen parties. I'm sure that isn't everybodies experience, but we have met them on the water and in some of the pubs and only found them to be out to have a bit of fun. Some of the costumes can be a bit over the top but never offensive and while one or two get a bit worse for wear, there is normally somebody in the party keeping an eye on things. Keep them coming. 12. I am happy to report that both the tackle shop and the gift shop are still in business. I think both are open 7 days, but don't take that as correct, I am a Ludhamite so know the word on the street in these parts!!!!!!!!!
  13. Excellent draw, well done Harry and Jack - the fee is in the post! Many thanks and happy christmas to all.
  14. I think the photo is taken from Fye Bridge - between the Ribs of Beef and The Mischief.
  15. There is a danger that we get into a heated argument between owners and hirers which will achieve nothing. The reality is that the broads are there for us all to enjoy and we need BA to manage it efficiently and in a cost effective manner. Unfortunately, BA is 'broken' and needs a complete revamp to make it effective in todays world. From an owners point of view I don't have a problem with the level of the toll if the authority is managing properly, in fact it's probably the lowest part of our boating costs. What we really need is a united voice and an authotity which is answerable to all it's users.
  16. Clive's option 3 is far to revolutionary and will never catch on!
  17. Kerry, I was all set to visit this weekend when I noticed your member name 'arsenalrules' so I will have to delay until we come in to watch Chelsea see you off!!!!! Good luck with the pub, but not the footie. Mike O
  18. No 3 is currently for sale at NYA and looks a lovely boat. We bought Gavin's 27 (Namaste) but traded up to a Sealine 310 last year. The Falcon was our first boat and we loved it. Mike O
  19. Not sure if it's common or not. Went to check the boat out at the weekend and ended up in The Ship - as you do! Looked across and thought there was some sacking on the timber work by the swing bridge - until it moved, then realised it was a seal basking in the winter sun. Clearly not bothered by trains or people - I did take a photo on my phone, but as it was directly into the sun it is very poor.
  20. I am planning on taking the SRC Course and enquired at Barton Turf Adventure Centre - their response below. Anybody else interested? If we can get at least 4 people, I'm hoping to organise an SRC course for 10th November. If it's on, I'll email you and also post on our Facebook page. Cost will be £99 a head, which includes £30 payable to the authorities for the licence. (If you can get together a group of at least 5, the rate is reduced to £85 each) Course lasts one day (09.30 - 17.00) and you will need to bring your lunch (tea, coffee making facilities available here) You will also need to bring a passport photo to go on the licence. Handbooks are provided as part of the course. - Mike O
  21. Having looked at Companies House registration it appears to be a simple re-branding. No change of ownership Mike O
