  1. Arrrghhh there's a storm a brewing. On Breydon? It will only be in a teacup then! Griff
  2. I can see VictoryV getting inundated with requests for these, his chosen charity will be in for a constant boon (Put 'B.A' down for one with the same background) Well impressed with your painting Griff
  3. Well look on the positives in this. No longer will we onboard 'B.A' have to concern oursens with 'That' bridge. Also we can just pop out to sea at any time we please, Oh, hang on, we would be berthed in sea water and as soon as we cast off would be 'At Sea' Griff
  4. I just don't know how he does it and am proper jealous of the time he available to do it! Griff
  5. My list of yards that we have hired from, and I'm just bound to miss a few, not in date order btw:- Herbert Woods Brooms John Williams Richardsons Bridgecraft Acle Eastwood Whelptons Hearts Southgates Whispering Reeds Barnes Corfu Yacht Charter RN Faircraft Loynes Sanderson Marine Anchor Craft Pacific Cruisers and no doubt others I forget Griff
  6. I don't think I can say too often just how impressive your skills are and just how good the model of Broad Ambition looks! I thoroughly agree and second that one Griff
  7. If lived within easy reach of the broads, i`d happily volunteer to help keep down overgrowth on former staithes etc, also to help clean up the navigations that lead to them. Me too, I wish Griff
  8. Admiral Seven. Been on her times many. My most favourite woody ever Griff
  9. I once met a proper stunning Jenny Wren back in Gibraltar 80 - 81 whilst I was drafted there back in my RN days. She was a Wren Writer and all the lads fancied her. Her name was Pat Britton. I got to know her quite well, we became friends. In 1985 Mysen and my then girlfriend went to her wedding near to Peterborough. My then girlfriend became my wife in 86, Pat Britton (Now Williams) and her husband came to our wedding. We kept in touch over the years. Pat divorced about 10 years ago, she has two grown up children, lives near to Peterborough Late last year Pat noticed something was wrong, she immediately went to the docs - Breast cancer. The hospital praised her for coming forward immediately. They were confident they could fix her - They did and by March of this year she was given the all clear May of this year and the cancer was back, hugely aggressive this time - It wanted her. We lost Pat last night in a Hospice in her sleep She would have been 61 next January. She was one of the most vibrant, pleasant and yes, damned attractive girlies I have ever met We had a date next year to take her onboard 'B.A' for a long weekend. I was supposed to be taking Pat to a charity ball next month in MrsG's place (MrsG has been away since 24th May). I'm proper upset and yes, b l o o d y well angry too. She did not deserve this People - Don't put off seeing your satellite friends or making an effort to see them. One day sadly either you or they will be permanently absent, make the effort whilst you still have the ability Griff
  10. That’s me just had my annual eye test. All to the good, still no need for glasses. Not bad for a Yorkshire gigalo of my vintage Griff
  11. Haven't I just. Better late then never or a day late and a dollar short Griff
  12. First off, a huge TVMOM to both Mike and Dave for bringing this subject to our attention, a potentially lethal situation Of course I have just had to spend an age going through photo's to make sure we have the marine gas tight version fitted to 'B.A'. Much to my relief we do indeed have the marine gas tight version fitted. Its the original Mikuni exhaust system, its wrapped / insulated with a fireproof cloth, all installed by yours truly. We are now running with a Planar heater unit through the same exhaust Griff
  13. We 'Discovered' a pub we had not frequented before either. TBH that's not difficult in GYA as this is the first time we have overnighted there for as long as I can remember on the annual Lads Week. The beer was kept very well. 'Fallen Angles' was the venue,. I've been in worse establishments, the staff were very attentive. Sadly, no photo's Griff
  14. I once had a Vito Van for ‘GriffTile’. Bought from a Mercedes dealership. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. Because of that van I would never own a Mercedes of any description on principle Griff
  15. We are now Doggin. Ok - really we are in he Dog Inn of course Tomorrow DTS will be at Kings Arms Womack Water. Then our Dining Out night at Acle Bridge tomorrow night. We will be in Fancy Dress. This years theme is ‘Crusaders’. Yes we have all got names too. Sirloin of beef, Sircumspect, Sircumcision to name a few Griff
  16. Rant #1 Two hire boats moored on the water point moorings at Ludham Bridge for overnight where it clearly stars moorings for water only. Rant #2 Two private Motor boats moored overnight on the demasting mooring areas at Ludham Bridge where it clearly states no mooring. In both cases there are alternative moorings available albeit a tad further away Griff
  17. It got pretty cold overnight. Lots of condensation to deal with this morning. But AT LAST it is dry and bright. We can get the wheelhouses rolled back before sailing for Wroxham. ‘B.A’ outside hotel Wroxham rest of us into NBD. Victuals, Showers, DTS. Sailed at 1400 by 1500 the rain is back on again. Now underway for Ludham Bridge. Overnight and the Dog Griff
  18. All Stern on at Ranworth Staithe - eventually - and it has at last stopped raining. The Staithe is busy so craft a bit split up. Here overnight Griff
