  1. Thanks for that Mark,we shall be there before 3 ish so hopefully we will get on the Green.Col said he now has a hand held VHF so if any one else has one we could make contact .If so we can be contacted by calling "Serendipity " weather looks to be fair for the weekend .
  2. The speeding on Breydon may be OK on a reasonable day ,but we came over Breydon today from Oulton , very strong wind over tide conditions,we had waves breaking over the bow (On a Bounty 28 )and clearing the roof ,when ahead of us we saw a large Broom approaching at a good rate of knots he came off the plane as he passed ,a few seconds later we were hit by his swell with troughs of 3 to 4 feet as we dropped into one the breaking wave flowed into the forward well and deposited many gallons of water which drains into the binge and gets pumped out the stern .We thoroughly enjoyed the crossing but were concerned that a boat that was not well equipped or with a novice crew could have had a very uncomfortable experience. I wish the guy on the Broom could have seen that his speed and slowing down in these conditions did not help the other boats he had just passed.
  3. Not long now ,Will bring what we can to help out.we shall be there Sat morning all being well. Are most boats hoping to get on the green ?or rafting ? Maybe Mark may know how busy it is on a Saturday ?
  4. At the moment it looks free, would like to join you if its the 27Th,but not to sure about dawn? but will try.
  5. Great pics Simon. We recently had Bavarian friends staying with us and they thought the cathedral was excellent,so much to see.
  6. Yes Barry at last got round to it.Always jobs to do !!!!!!!!!
  7. Hi Andy ,Just fitted a bow roller on our Bounty 28 which we got from Norfolk Marine .Its about 5-6 inches in length and was about £26 .Follow all the previous advice and you wont go far wrong.
  8. Hi Julz, count us (2) in for Saturday and Food on Sunday but one veggie please.Look forward to meeting up with you all at another NBN Meet again .
  9. Great read Dave .I have decided we shall rise earlier on the boat and enjoy the best of the day,but know where near your waking time?????? was there much weed at West Somerton ,one of our favourite places,as I have heard it was bad some weeks ago causing some weed trap problems.
  10. Sorry Simon one of my Senior moments ,must have misread your post
  11. Firstly Simon welcome back to the "Wet ones " I am not in a position to comment on all the informed previous posters.Several observations for me would be that if one engine was not reaching temperature then the second engine would? or do the pipes to the colorfier join and go through one coil? Could be as you say no thermostats fitted but then the temperature would increases gradually ? Our system is providing the opposite effect .within half an hour the gauge reads 80c and the water is to hot to touch .We are going to fit a temperature mixer (between hot and cold )which will only send water to the taps at the selected temperature.A long shot but you may have something like this connected to the system but set low?
  12. There has been a thread earlier in the year regarding winter lay up and I was amazed at the amount of items removed and serviced by the fleets
  13. Great stuff.Does any one recognise the guy on the lorry in the second row on the right end ??? looks familiar to me ! or could it be a clone of someone we know?????

  18. Just to second all that has been said about the "Dog " weekend.Started for us when we went to the White Horse at Upton for our meal that we won here on the Christmas draw.I have heard tales of the fish and chips but you have to see them to believe it .It was the largest ,freshest fish we have had in memory.Ray came in to see who had won his prize and to have a chat .I mentioned we used to use the pub when we had a boat in Upton and our son would play in the outside games room some 25 years ago .Ray has been there for 32 years and that must be some kind of record for a Broadland pub? Next on to the Lion at Thurne where a good evening was provided by Hard Rain a local group of six members who play music for all tastes.Saturday saw us at Ludham joining in the days entertainment ,an excellent time was had by all and our thanks to all involved. We were last to get to Coltishall and had to double bank with Tot Tyme.Got dragged off to the Rising Sun as it was hot and you have to keep your fluid intake up dont you! The girls tried hard to eat the ice cream van dry whilst we were gone. A space had been vacated and the girls had moved and moored the boat whilst we were gone ,and nicely moored I must say.Afternoons dont get much better than that.More socialising in the evening and retired very contented! Our family were joing us on the Monday so we waved goodbye to the rest as they made their way back to Wroxham and beyond. We took the family down to Salhouse and back to Colltishall passing through Wroxham twice which was busier than the M 25 ,but it is good to see so many peaple enjoying the river. We dropped them off and had a quiet night and lazy Tuesday before returning to South Walsham on Tuesday night for our return home on Wednesday.A very pleasant few days in good company
  19. So you have done that as well.I thought it was only me did things like that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Fixed at last !!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the help,The slack got worse so got someone from a one of the yards yard to take a look and was told that it was a damaged key way and the boat needed lifting, shaft out machined etc etc said we could use it carefully as we were going to Sutton for the weekend.Set off and as we got to Ludham Bridge remembered the Yard was now run by Jason Hatch who runs SOS 24/7 .Popped into the shed and Jason said he would have a look, got some tools removed flange and tightened the nut on the inboard end replaced bolts an hey presto job done .Into reverse is now smooth and "clunk free " must have had play since we bought the boat.So it was a taper on the end plus a nut on the end and then bolted back together to the gear box .All I can say is a much better result than I expected and thanks to Jason who proved that there is good honest service out there.
