  1. Hi Helen. We haven't got an allotment, but this is the first time in a number of years we have used the greenhouse for what it is designed for and not storage. Shadow and the caravan used to take all our time. Now no Shadow, and all caravan sites closed, more time for the garden.
  2. Rosie and Mambo. 13.5 year old Red/white bitch. 16 month old Tri dog. Rosie quite a well travelled boating dog when we were shareholders in Moonlight Shadow. We got the Sprog after we left. Used part of the share sale pennies to add him to the family.
  3. Purely my personal opinion, with Tin Hat firmly on! But I cant see how grown men feel the need to beat seven shades out of each other, in the name of sport, even if it is skilful. It can cause so many problems. A case in point; how Cassias Clay ended up, you cant tell me that it did not have something to do with his fighting over the years.
  4. Ranworth and Irstead
  5. It seems to me that this heating just is not up to the job. Was problematic for most of the time we owned our shares. We always had a fan heater and extra 'throws' we took on board with us.
  6. Yes I noticed that. All of a sudden. There are two up for grabs on Silver Cloud which is virtually unheard of.
  7. The same thing happened with Moonlight Shadow a few years back. BCBM organised the survey, can't remember who did it off hand though, sorry.
  8. Hi. We have a soft extending brush we use on the caravan which we used to bring with us, worked a treat.
  9. Unless things have changed, the exterior cleaning of Shadow has always been the owners responsibility.
  10. Retread of this just finished on Drama, absolutely hilarious episode on Contessa 2 at Benson Cruisers on the Thames. Haven't laughed so much for ages.
  11. Hello Alan. I don't know why Shadow hadn't gone this route. Perhaps the current owners ought to bring it up? Jay, as Chairman, perhaps could get them to discuss. Sue
  12. Hi. We bought our life jackets from the chandlery at Wroxham. They are self inflating, and have recently been rearmed. They were bought when we bought into MS on 2011. After 7 years enjoyment sold our shares last year. Sue PS, we retrofitted a crotch strap on one of them after watching a similar video as mentioned.
  13. Hi. As a South of the M4 wimp, I also had (still have somewhere) an electric under blanket when on board Shadow. Only trouble was, the one we had was not happy working on the inverter, only on 240v. Sue
  14. Good luck. I remember our first trip in 2011. Such excitement. Sue
  15. Absolutely, a few years back, on one of our trips, we had put non see thru film on the stern shower window in Moonlight Shadow. A few weeks later another partner reported the window had broken but hardly any glass had fallen inside.

I remember when we had our share in Breeze. We found getting to Ferry Marina a real pain, parking was awkward and we were moored next door to a metal 'bomber' with a pointy beam with a large anchor attached. Getting in and out was really tight. We sold up in 2005. Getting back into syndicate ownership on Moonlight Shadow in 2011 we found Brundall far easier to get to. We sold up a second time in 2018!
  17. Have just finished reading Broadland 'A Chilling Norfolk Broads Crime Thriller'. Thought it was a bit tame to start with, how wrong I was! Am leaving it a while to read 'St Benets' and have book 3 on pre-order. (Kindle, although other E-Readers are available!)
  18. Our gripe about these is their location. Generally they appear to always be in the only place where there is any shade. As someone who regularly visits other areas and 99% of the time with a dog in the car seeing these (usually empty) is like a red rag to a bull.
  19. The Allegro, apparently was thought to be one of the worst cars Austin ever built. The Ambassador was another one of theirs, ditto the Montenegro I think. Such a young sprog you are Jay!

    Semi Liveaboard

Congratulations. Does this mean you are selling up in Thunder and Shadow? Sue
  21. Bring back National Service! We did 34 years between us (Army and Wraf) and as you say was all to the good. Plus we got a pension each out of it!
  22. A slow journey? Less than 3 hours, I'm envious,. The very earliest we ever got there was 1530, so no relaxing pub trip for us. Rosie was pretty bomb proof, but we have just added a 7.5 month old juvenile delinquent to the mix which would have been fun (not!) Butter wouldn't melt ....
  23. Oh dear what a mess! SueH
  24. Whilst I am no longer part of the boating fraternity having sold my shares in MS. I can see that renewing at anytime during the year and only paying for part of the year depending on when you buy your boat could be very popular. SueH
