  1. Both Evening Shadow and Silver Cloud are based up North. Sue
  2. Moonlight Shadow, the last BCBM boat based at Brundall, is similar, the only difference is that the gas bottles are changed by Broom and charged to the syndicate. We have been with the syndicate for a number of years and have loved it. She is a very safe and easy boat to handle and the dog loves it. Unfortunately circumstances have changed and our two shares (8 weeks a year) are now for sale. We would love to sell them privately !!!! Sue.
  3. HWMBO loves Axminster Tools. He has bought lots of useful 'bitsas' over the years to use when making his RC models from 'scratch'. We've never been to them in person - good job though, it would be even more expensive than usual!!! The current project is a Piaggio 136.

    Broads Toll

And for Moonlight Shadow, until my shares are sold, the registered owner is me. Sue
  5. Could be a bit noisy! Fortunately none here at the recycling areas. Good job, I am paranoid about height barriers ......
  6. Down here they say you need a licence for a van, and pay for the privilege. Haven't been stopped yet, technically our high top Renault Traffic is a van - we use it as a Recreational Vehicle complete with pull out awning on the side (oh and it is Maroon!). I would argue the toss if a 'Jobs Worth' appeared at our local recycling area. It does seem wierd though to be asked to pay to recycle, in this day and age, especially with all the who-har recently about plastic in the sea. S

    Broads Toll

Well, I've just received the invoice for Moonlight Shadow's Broads Toll. £569 and a bit. BA can be very organised sometimes ..... A bit too soon even by my early payment standards to cough up me-thinks. Good job BCBM reimburse quickly, that is quite a large chunk to come out of our account. Another good reason to be partners in a syndicate boat. (Hint, Hint!) Sue
  8. Sounds like I remember - perhaps I mis-remember the colour. After all it is 30 years since I left!!!
  9. Going slightly off topic. Hi Jay. Many years ago when I was in the WRAF we used to have a small red extinguisher used solely for electrical fires which was 'abolished' under 'Elf & Safety' For the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Any ideas? Sue
  10. Just bringing this back up to the top of the reading list! JayFire has done a sterling job of showing what Shadow is like during his recent very entertaining holiday posts. Sue
  11. How much battery power do these AIS take? I see there are a few on in Brundall as well. Sue
  12. Yeah. Not only has Jay managed to take advantage of a spare week on Shadow, but it looks like he will be the first partner to get 'close up and personal' with Indy? Can't be bad .. Sue
  13. B.A. sent me a letter reminding me (as the named owner for the syndicate) about Moonlight Shadow. We had it done as part of the annual maintenance. SueH
  14. Another option of course - go the syndicate route. Less initial outlay and outgoings. Good route to see if the long term plan is to continue private ownership. Please pm for more info if needed. Sue
  15. Hello Jovril and welcome. Have you considered the syndicate route at all. S
  16. Happy 2018. Thank goodness last night is over. Rosie is a nervous wreck. The fireworks started at 1145 and went on until nearly 0100. A constant barage of noise. Why can't someone design silent fireworks so that we can have the spectacle without the noise. S
  17. None I'm afraid. Bah-humbug! S
  18. Congratulations. She's a great boat. I'm envious of the people you bought from though. They are now able to go on to other things. I think it will be at least two years before we can say the same with the sale of our Moonlight Shadow shares! S
  19. They are normally closed from Christmas Eve until about then anyway. This has caused problems for us in the past for our Christmas allocations.
  20. Thanks. Just me being dense and adding password as well! All ok now. After all this hopefully be able to be there. S
