  1. Anyone remember Toby holidays at St Olaves early '60s I think . I wonder what happened to the Toby jug ?
  2. Yes I remember when it was on all the garage forecourts used to add it to your petrol tank, was 1d a shot from a squirty can
  3. Hi sidestand and JTF yes its a fuel additive that is supposed to help with carb cleaning etc I would think it is similar to Redex. If you can remember redex ! It was originally developed for outboard engines.
  4. I'm just wondering if anyone has used this in their outboards and if so did it improve performance?
  5. Ohh yes I remember them well both in boats and caravans . I don't think trusting them was an issue as there was no alternative they were rather smelly and used to hiss at you but at least you knew when your gas was running low they used to pulse the light went up and down . I seem to remember there was a notice that stated you had to have the vents open when they were in use . As well as that my old Nan used to live in a town house with gas lighting it was turned off and on by pulling on little chains on a rocking arm type system , happy days and don't get me started on the old gas geysers that took your eyebrows off when they lit.
  6. Happy New Year everyone and here's to a long hot summer and no hosepipe bans
  7. I don't see a problem with narrow boats , there are one or two around Beccles and they all seem to be very well controlled , unlike some of the huge fly-bridge monsters that would be more at home cruising the Med . I haven't seen any comments on some of the Dutch barges that are seen quite often surely they are also steel and are very well behaved. I'm also old enough to remember the coasters heading up to Norwich through Reedham in the sixties now they really were something to dodge.
  8. I tried as well same thing.Getting to be getting to be quite regular!
  9. Another thumbs up for "Creeping crack cure" it worked for me. have a look on flebay
  10. Thanks for all the replys will have a check around.
  11. Hi I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to outboard servicing on the southern broads . It's for a 9.9 Yamaha ?
  12. How I wish that people would stop referring to Spirit of Breydon as S.O.B. having American relatives it has a completely different meaning and it's not a compliment!
  13. Hi Hockham and thanks for the welcome. I wasn't really upset by this but was purely making an observation.
  14. cruising down the river yesterday and the moorings were being well used,it didn't look to me as if they would have had a problem with the bridges.
