  1. Love this. Having had a share in Evening Shadow for a number of years I have a proper soft spot for the Pearl 38s. Proper nice boats.
  2. Thunder has recently moved up a space but I see HPC have another hire boat in the fleet- Thunder, Silver Cloud and ES currently moor along from the hirefleet.
  3. So with Thunder we have stuck with the Sat am turnaround but have to be in the yard on a Friday afternoon for the engineer visit. We would still have had a Saturday turnaround if it was available but finding yards willing to do the Sat turnaround proved impossible. I can see the benefit of a Friday if you wanted to just visit for a weekend, rather then the whole week.
  4. Welcome to HPC! are you guys moving to a Friday turnaround or back to the yard for the engineer and then turnaround Friday? looking forward to seeing all the work that has recently been completed on MS.
  5. I do get that- I did my day skipper a couple of years back and it just adds to the complexity 😃 But on Breydon, sometimes there are posts, some are painted better than others, some have a white cap on, some don’t, sometimes there are no posts, sometimes there are buoys. It could just be made better.
  6. I am one of the 1 in 12 men who are red/green colourblind. Perhaps BA could move away from those colours!
  7. Assume they weren’t crossing at low or slack water? I always tell myself when we cross at slack that if anything goes wrong I won’t have to wait long for the tide 😃
  8. Somebody is buying their diesel!
  9. I would say keep your phone to hand- the driver often rings us before attending as apparently they often have people delayed.
  10. If anybody is quite taken with Moonlight Shadow there is a (in my opinion!) bargain share for sale. Facebook link
  11. Link Saw this one come up today privately. I don’t know much about the design but they do seem popular.
  12. Did you need the half a ton of beer to get under the bridge?! What was the bridge height when you went through? Not acres of room when Fair Countess went through - Asking for a friend. They did show the clearance in the programme but I don’t know if it was filmed at the same time.
  13. Saw this one on Facebook today Facebook link although I think it’s the same one as in the link above.
  14. Glad it’s not just me then- I only got 3 though!
  15. Good luck getting it calculated properly- too many cooks and all that 😃 might just as well ask @oldgregg who called ours pretty early! Did you leave the gearbox untouched?
  16. I am going to suggest MS’ new engine is in! Broom Facebook
  17. Well I would not go that far….🙄 A knocking noise from somewhere (possibly shaft/gearbox) to be investigated during the winter maintenance 🥲 revs are lower though- tops out around 2800rpm these days.
  18. We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve break at Potters for my mums 70th 😃 as we were leaving on the Monday I had a nose around the arena as it was coming to life. Loads of work going on!
  19. I have had a nose onboard and it is very nice so as long as you have clocked the bridges she won’t pass under I am sure you won’t be disappointed!
  20. Couple of things from me: 1) Don’t forget boats don’t have to stay north of south. We moved Thunder from Brundall to Horning following an owners vote. 2) Those front v berths sometimes have an infill which makes it one big bed. We have it on Thunder but not sure if ES of MS have one? Some people want four weeks, some people want 2 weeks, some people want a couple months- one size rarely fits all in the syndicate world!
  21. When we put the new engine in on Thunder @oldgreggsuggested we fit an additional alternator but the fitters advised it wasn’t necessary. We should have fitted the additional alternator……

  23. Buzzer you say….😃
  24. I just watched the “start up” video of the lowliner. Is the flashing red light and siren like noise standard on Richos cruisers?! There’s no slipping away quietly without waking the crew with all that going on!
  25. The boat formally known as Rockland is currently living it up on the Limehouse Cut
