The Med holiday destinations that rely so much on the British Holiday £ will be more than welcoming I reckon. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
Not sure we saw a negative effect from VE Day that many predicted? I also remember the news showing “packed” beaches in Southend on 20th May. I purposely went into the gov.uk data file to see how many positive tests Southend are reporting since. I seem to recall it is single figures although obviously not everybody was from southend. I personally think in general we need to love away from the fixation on the “R value”. With such smaller numbers the R value is going to be more volatile and it will move around. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
I have learnt that we consume a lot more milk with all four of us at home. It must be 20odd pints a week! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
The Lion at Thurne was doing this very well and I think you can now order online. My pint of beer was served in a plastic milk carton :-) Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
Yes, day boating only but at 240 miles round trip it won’t be often! Silver Cloud was out for the day. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
We moored at Thurne Dyke on Monday and had a takeaway from the Lion and ate on the boat. Bloody lovely it was! And busy. Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
Monday was certainly busier than yesterday on the rivers. Yesterday we went to Neatishead for lunch. Just squeezed in: And then down to Cockshoot for tea: Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
We were due to be onboard Thunder next week. Gutted not be going, particularly as the weather looks to be great ☹️ Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
Anyone have any idea what size of boat they use to make the assumption that it is 16 mooring spaces? And how close do they have to be?! Sent from my iPhone using Norfolk Broads Network
I have a spreadsheet just for such occasions.... Winter Maintenance (WM) 2014/15 - £2,798 WM 2015/15 - £3,028 WM 2016/17 - £5,208 (includes rear mattress @ £651 and 6 new batteries @ £1,129) WM 2017/18 - £19,859 (includes new engine and re-wire) WM 2018/19 - £6,555 (new carpet throughout £2,369 and new front mattress V berth £785) Jan 19 we also had new battery charger and upper helm chair. As above but don’t forget that whilst up for sale owners are still responsible for the costs every month and at this time of year a few hundred quid for the winter maintenance. Special Shares - I think Thunder is unique of the BCBM managed boats in having this. Essentially there are two*4 week shares and one 2 weeks share which have priority in the allocation chart. Essentially they are school holiday shares. We have just given the go ahead for a front bathroom refurb on Thunder which should be completed over the winter.
