  2. No idea Dave I think it may be new-never seen it anywhere before Alan
  3. Peter this is especially for you. At this moment sat in Broadview wine bar at Oulton Broad drinking a pint of Jenny Morgan beer, excellent it is too brewed by Green Jack brewery -well done again Tim Boycee
  4. Five of us ate there on Monday this week. All meals were excellent the portions were generous.Drinks were fine but the wine at £19 a bottle minimum was a tad on the high side. No probs John when I came back you were gone but I guessed you had driven and were on the ale trail Alan
  5. Saw the boat being repaired in Faircrafts shed yesterday (Tues). The work on the bow looked well advanced but dont know about any other damage if any it incured Boycee
  6. Thanks Carol for a really interesting blog touring the broads in a totally different way Boycee
  7. Just to let everyone know that it is The Yare Sailing Clubs Breydon Regatta this weekend 15th & 16th. Moorings will be very busy and lots of yachts racing on Breydon and the Yare between Breydon & Reedham. The Berney will be doing the catering for competitors & followers Boycee
  8. I'm getting the same list on my Galaxy S2.Whats the answer pls? Boycee
  9. I was also told of the situation 3 weeks ago by probably the same person as you Alex and likewise I have no reason to doubt them. If it proves to be true then The Broads Authority have spent a lot of money for nothing and an excellent mooring on the Southern Broads will disappear.Sadly I feel there is no smoke without fire Boycee
  10. Sutton Staithe Boatyard 96p a litre today 22/7/15 Boycee
  11. Called in yesterday whilst waiting for the tide and tried both the Trawlerboys and the Waxwing both excellent.Update on the licencee is that Tim took out the origonal licen e so they could open soonest and the lady running the pub,Tracey, will become the new licencee when she gets her licence next week. She will be the manager for the two guys who have taken over the licence of The Beauchamp Arms and both pubs will be supplied by Greenjack Brewery.Obviously as to how long the pub remains open depends on the outcome of the planning application-fingers crossed it is rejected Boycee

    Speeding

Totally agree Viking. We were overtaken last week near Langley Dyke by a gin palace doing at least 8 mph with a hugh bow wave. Found him moored at Coldham about half an hour later and let him know whatI thought of his actions-result no response Boycee

Good idea Alan but I dont think that many hirers will be on the forum to heed your warning and neither do I think the Broads Authority will do a lot about it unless they receive several complaints about an individual boat.Thats why we moor on the Northern Broads but with the exception of March to May and mid Sept to end of Oct we spend all our time on the Southern Broads Boycee
  14. Not quite sure what the arrangement is between the parties Howard but you are totally right about The Locks & Tbe Stamford Arms which Tim lost in the divorce settlement. Will update you if I find out Alan
  15. I have it on good authority that the licence holder for The Berney Arms is Tim who owns & runs Greenjack Brewery in Lowestoft and until recently The Locks at Geldeston. This should please Howard who I think is a fan of Trawlerboys amongst other GJ beers. Also understand Greenjack beers are available in The Beauchamp and The New Inn Rockland. Nice guy Tim and good luck to him he deserves it.If your in Lowestoft pop in to his pub The Triangle-a proper pub with excellent beer Boycee
  16. Congratulations Robin-great choice of both boat & shareholders Boycee
  17. Just been on the website Alan & one of the parents is feeding 3 very hungry chicks. Boycee
  18. I got the letter re the AA changes with a number of options. I chose a refund & emailed them as per their instructions. After waiting a month I had not received anything so I rang the subscription number & spoke to a young lady who apologised that the cheque had not been sent and said she would ensure it was despatched within a few days.Three weeks later I received a cheque for £9. It took a lot of time and effort to get the refund but I finally banked it yesterday-Big Bucks ! Boycee
  19. Great publication Clive and much needed. Iam sure you have noted all the comments made and will rectify the relevant content on the next reprint if you believe it to be correct and fisable :clap Boycee
  20. May 1964-myself & 2 mates hired Broadwave from Clifford E Allen of Coltishall.Got the bus from Blackpool to Manchester then overnight coach from Manchester to Wroxham arriving at 6.30am.Walked with our suitcases to Coltishall and as we get into the village we ask a guy with a roll neck sweater smoking a pipe the way to Clfford Allens Yard. "I'm Cliff Allen follow, me " he says, so we do & in no time we get to the yard which was on the site at the end of the short dyke at Anchor Moorings. We ask when the boat will be ready & he tells us we can have it straight away if we want,so after an instruction trip by him we are off down the Bure and its only 8am-you would never get that service these days. All we had to eat on board was tinned Salmon & Tinned Peaches & cream until we reached Wroxham to shop so we sat on deck with the roof down we wolfed down our unusual breakfast.I fell in love with the broads that day & truth to tell the stretch of river from Coltishall to Wroxham is to this day my favourite stetch of waterway. Broadwave is still running having been completely refitted out and changed from petrol engine to diesel engine recently and was for sale on one of the boat websites-At 18 I promised myself I would buy a boat on the Broads one day and in 1994 I was fortunate enough to be in a position to do it. 20 years on Sandpiper is my pride & joy and my love for the Broads is as strong as it was that May day in 1964 Boycee
  21. Hi Hylander-this happened to me a few days ago and I eventually sorted it by going to the Menu box in" View New Content".How it had happened I dont know but one of the sections in "OTHER" was ticked ie "items I started". I unticked this by clicking on it and the full "View New Content" returned. As I say I dont know how this happened but it appears you could have a similar problem,I certainly dont remember ticking it-try it & see Good luck Boycee
  22. You're right Iain-should never have trusted a Trotter :norty: Alan
  23. Sorry guys must have pressed a wrong button on my phone to "only items I have started"-rectified it now-apologies Boycee
