Guest DanDen
Hi Folks, After my newly commisioned boat survey report the surveyor has recommended two things I am having trouble sourcing. He recommended that a bare metal section of the exhaust be lagged and I am wondering if Holts Gun Gum repair bandage would do the trick, its very cheap from halfords and would have the benefit of strengthening it a little, (he did say it was abit corroded but not leaking) He also said that the carburettor drip tray should have a flame arresting gauze fitted with a specific mesh size that I cant seem to find anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am starting to discover that boating is like standing in a cold shower tearing up £20 notes and so intend to do the work myself. Antares_9
Dan, flame arresting mesh sheet available in small quantities here: http://www.pollymodelengineering.co.uk/ ... l-mesh.asp Exhaust insulation lagging from ASAP supplies, the Holts stuff is not insulative which I assume is the reason for needing it.
