For those thinking about their first foray saltside or wanting a bit more information or bedtime reading have a look at this.

Based on Greece and Turkey but the theory is the same

Possibly the theory course is a bit biased towards covering Mediterranean conditions and techniques, e.g. Bow and Stern To mooring etc, but I agree it is a very good theory course, and certainly isn't totally aimed at non tidal waters.

It even goes further than the RYA yachtmaster theory in some aspects, and even if you have done the theory course it is a good way to brush up on those bits that you rarely use..

What amazes me is the number of languages that is has been translated into, I don't know if Diederik did all the translation himself, or if he did the first few languages and then got interested parties to help him out with the Polish etc.

The cruising guide to Corfu and the surrounding area is also especially interesting for me as Diederik has used several of my photos in it as he hadn't actually visited some of the places.
