BuffaloBill
Thinking about condensation as you do at this time of year Anyone tell me which is best, Compressor or Peltier types. For's and against.
Siddy
Compressor for me, Checked up a few year back and you got better duty from the comp. The Peltier isn't as noisy but this doesn't matter for a boat. See like which gives info on 3 types http://www.breathingspace.co.uk/dehumidifier-guide-i25
BuffaloBill
Thanks for that. Very informative site. Compressor it is then.
Baitrunner
I use (and have for 4yrs) a large compressor based model all year round. It is a worry, but then so is leaving the battery charger on in the engine bay! I also have a couple of the desicant/crystal based units in each cabin as back up. I dont leave the dehumidifier to drain in the sink as it would need to be on the worktop and if I used the shower tray I would need to leave the batteries on for the sump pump to work, so just empty the tank every time I check on the boat. I would be more worried about the dishwasher flooding the kitchen than catching fire to be honest.
