Nasa Marine Sting Ray Speed And Distance Log.

Recommended Posts

Have got one of these on our boat, has got a display and a rotary switch with off,A and B.

Has anyone got any info on these? Have found the sender in the engine bay but the display doesn't seem to read the correct speed.  Are they more for speeds over 6 knots?

Thanks in advance.

I think these use a paddle wheel. Unless you use the boat regularly the wheels crud up and don't work properly.

My opinion is paddle wheel devices work better on fast boats as the speed cleans the wheels up. Slow speeds just don't flush them through.

Use a free speed app on your phone. Accurate and show speed over ground which is what the Rangers will clock you at. Just watch your wash at other times.
