Well? Have I Got A Big One Or Not?

As for length the Elysian was designed as a 26 footer but as several other boats  were released about the same time they leant the stern back 4 inches and added 3 more inches to the hull so that gives 26ft 7in.

Width, is one with and the other without the added rubbing strips?

and BA will always want the bigger one, unless you can prove otherwise ... more money for them...

I believe that Craig's measurements are taken from the builders original details wherever possible.

The details that the BA have are those that the vessel was first registered with and so will depend on the accuracy (or otherwise) of the details provided by the person originally registering the vessel.

I guess the ultimate answer is to take a tape to her and see what results you get. If they are less than those registered:

a. hop across the dyke and have a word with John! :naughty:

b. ask the BA to correct their records. Although in that case you may need to fork out for a surveyor to provide verified measurements and in which case it may be cheaper in the long run to do nothing :?
