LizG
Quoting from a Broadland Memories blog http://www.broadlandmemories.co.uk/blog/2012/03/old-broads-tours-boats-never-die/ We were walking around Cardiff Bay yesterday when I looked out across the water to suddenly see the Princess Royal crossing the bay. I remembered seeing that somewhere there was a Broads Tours boat but forgotten where! After lunch she was just leaving her moorings and the lady let me on her jetty to take a photo. I explained I remembered seeing her go past the house in Horning regularly! For those on Facebook there is a bit more about her recent winter overhaul and ship's dog. https://www.facebook.com/bronwenshipsdog/?hc_ref=SEARCH&fref=nf http://cardiffwaterbus.com/
riyadhcrew
I am on a tour tomorrow morning at 04.00am to Malaysia for the day. An absolute pain in the butt - but necessary for the Bali visa. At least I can see what beer they have and slurp a few.
Broads01
I live in Cardiff and so I'm familiar with the Bay. I had no idea there was a historic Broads boat there.
AdnamsGirl
Excellent and well spotted! I was promised a free trip on Princess Royal if I made it to Cardiff. It is surprising how well travelled some of the old Broads Tours launches were after they left the Broads. Carol
JennyMorgan
Broads boats in general have been known to travel. Several Broads One Design sailing boats have been to India, another ended up in the Caribbean where it was destroyed in a typhoon. A norfolk wherry, the Gypsey, went to Holland and then toured many of the rivers in Europe.
webntweb
I had a trip on an ex Broads Tours boat on the Falkirk Wheel not long after it opened. When I went back a couple of years ago they had upgraded? to modern steel boats.
troutman62
The old wooden Broads tours boats were lovely, we stayed in a little "cottage" in a boatyard in Wroxham in 1972 when I was 19 ,its long gone now , my girlfriend and I , now my wife , took a trip ( in the best possible sense this time) to Horning and Salhouse broad and it was the start of my incurable Broads addiction. Its all Broads Tours fault !
