Are there any Coasters?

Hi.

In years past we were always excited as youngsters to see a coaster on the Yare.

Are any still in operation? I know a lot went when the loading quay at Cantley closed down.

Hi Keith,

Well I thought they were long finished, I remember the excitement of seeing them as a kid. Interesting thing is there are still warning signs up along the Yare. No doubt someone will come up with the answer

One thing that made me wonder was the size of the mooring posts just on the Breydon side of the lift bridge. If hire craft get to that size nothing will go under the bridges.

There are still a few fairly large barges around though, one passed us last year on the mouth of the Yare just up from the Berney Arms, it was being escorted by a River inspectors boat due to its sheer size
