Intending ,or should i say, hoping to go up to Dilham for the first time in October,whats the largest size of boat that can be turned there?Hoping to be on Monaco from Richardsons.

Monaco is 45ft but has the luxury of a stern and bow thruster, which used together and apposing each other would spin the boat around in it's own length.

Now, if it were me in that boat then personally I would turn before the Staithe (at the point the video below begins)  then reverse to the Staithe area - using the above mentioned thrusters should they be needed to stay on course.

If you arrive at the Staithe  and find it is full, no need try and turn of back up - just motor forward the way you've come.

The calculation to make is : If you get there and its  full you have to turn and as Robin says its doable, we did  it in Thunder  with 43ft length and a boat moored  across  turning area bank, however it was messy, so ....is it worth the hassle of reversing back instead and hedging your bets. Either way you have to turn, and you can    :-)
