Richardsons 2018

Will be on Commander 2 in a few weeks and wondered if Richardsons have now completed their new boat building programme or is anything planned over the winter that will be new and available for hire early 2018.  Any details appreciated.

Almost certainly but like many yards, they may prefer to fund that by selling some of their old stock.

commander 3 will be at the boat show then another couple of Commodores next year. 

We have a dedicated moulding and building team who operate all year round separate to the hire fleet. 

We have more new boats less than 10 years old than any other operator. 

no plans to stop building.

if you do the maths, by the time we have sold the boats available this year and paid the VAT it may fund one new boat.

If only you had two cruisers that could sleep 6 x males in separate bunks, shaft drive with large well decks, all male crew allowed (And dogs) then we could use them on our annual Lads Weeks.  Erm you couldn't see your way to constructing a couple of tupperware Admiral class could you?  Or a 'Sealord' with an aft well?

Thanks Clive, I have been on Commodore and looking forward to Commander, what are the differences between these two boats, tv dome ?

I think the main difference is Commander has a scissor berth arrangement in the fore cabin instead of an island double.

I'm pretty sure it will, if you look on the website it should be available..

Thanks Clive will call the office to enquire about unit 3 as I don't think the web site informs you of what boat you have been allocated. On unit 2 in 3 weeks looking forward to it.

I noticed the post about some of the older Richardsons boats being sold and I was just wondering if the fleet is smaller for 2018 or if there will be the new boats being added to the fleet?

They still do buy second-hand, if the Swan Craft boats and Dominica are anything to go by. If they were to acquire more good used kit it would combine well with the new builds I feel.

I guess this was my point. Are they building as many boats as they are selling? Most of the new boats seem to be pretty big. Are there any smaller boats coming in to the fleet?
