The Stables, Womack Water

Just spent a night prior to our week on Lightning at The Stables, Horsefen Road, Womack Water.

Lovely clean accommodation in a bed sitting room with separate small kitchen and bathroom. You have use of the owner's courtyard to sit out when the weather is fine. Also off road parking.

Two minutes walk from Womack Staithe and five minutes from the pub and village shops.

Our host Rupert was friendly and very helpful.

You can find The Stables on airbnb. It is normally a minimum of two nights but we were lucky as they had a single night available.

An added bonus is that Rupert is a member of a family that used to own a very well respected boatyard in Wroxham so plenty to talk about with him.

Just had a browse and it looks great, unfortunately it's maximum of 2 people so no good for my rabble of a gang but I'm sure it will be of interest to many.

The other week in South Walsham we went past Kingfisher  cottage. Lovely  house gardens and moorings. (unsure if you can moor your own boat) 3 bed with lots of space.High season about 900 pounds,which seems a good price to me.

Back in the day when we had the Ship at SW we catered a couple of parties at Kingfisher Cottage, yes a very nice place.
