Sailies are different Sam. The planks are narrower so we tend to have bacon sandwiches instead

Going by that air gap you could have a doorstep sandwich

Actually I am questioning whether we can go on sanding and smoothing and go back to varnish as she was originally.

Brava -  Yes, full strength but only for the final coat (Number six)

The five prior to that should be Ravalakk increasing the mix strength as you go

Griff is a big believer in reducing weight on a saily; witness removing the not too heavy outboard on a 4 ton boat on the 3RR

A good step forward. The port side planking has mostly been hung by Whelptons. We have a wait now to build up more in the restoration fund before the next professional input. 
We will be priming new wood  and varnishing cockpit area during the last two weeks in September. Staying in the caravan on their CL site will really help.
