A Winters Tale

Thinking about you producing a calendar Jay, I rather think it would have to be split into two. One for the scenic shots and the other purely showing the insides of pubs. Details left blank of course for punters to try and guess where they were. Sorry, that means you having to go out and visit a lot more hostelries to take cryptic shots in order to try and fool the Nogs! That’s going to be a hardship I know but I’m sure you won’t mind for the good of the forum. :default_beerchug:

I'll ensure when I am back on board in 2 weeks time that I start my work into getting the details together.

Yes it's hard work, yes my liver begs me to have a fudging day off, but I'm just far too dedicated to stop. :default_biggrin:

Dedicated to the forum I mean of course, not the pubs :default_smiley-angelic002:

It's actually so nice to see what other pubs there are about, the little maps are such a big help. I'm going to make a list for future trips so we are not just sticking the riverside regulars :1311_thumbsup_tone2:

Glad you liked it HG.

I'm going to head off to more boozers farther away from the waters edge, so I'll try and show what they are like and the routes and info etc.

I intended on getting to The White Lion this week at Wheatacre for example but I got carried away enjoying my cruises and singing.

Still, won't be long till I'm back

Thursday 13th December

I was up bright and early today to find an overcast windy cool day.

Once the dog had been exercised and my caffeine fix was sorted I set off from North Cove back up the River Waveney.

As ever I had no destination in mind as I fought against the incoming tide, with half an idea forming to pop onto the Waveney River Centre and have a walk to The White Lion.

By the time I reached the centre however I was aware that with the tide incoming, by the time I had walked there and back I may not be able to fit under the bridge at Somerleyton without faffing with the roof and so I continued on along the river with the sun threatening to beat the cloud cover and come out

I eventually met the New Cut

Where there was massive congestion ahead

caused by the appearance of the dreaded Southern Water Sea Monsters

I finally gained the advantage of the tides assistance at Reedham, where I progressed along the Yare to Brundall

As I reached Brundall at around 1515 I noticed the fuel kiosk was empty, and so moored up to get diesel and a pump out.

By the time I finally found someone to do the fuelling it was gone 1545, and by the time they had finished and I had paid it was 1610

Kiosk information for anyone who may be concerned

And so being so close to home with the light gone, I moored up back on my mooring

And headed off back to the Brundall Ram, for a few more beers, and it was a lovely evening in their too.

Shopping, Christmas shopping is what I meant :default_biggrin:

Oh that. Yes.

I have neither ever loved shopping as much as our shopping trips together :default_norty: or started Christmas shopping so early.

I thought it all got done on Christmas Eve in one mad final rush
