Thursday 24th January

Ok, a few points today before I start,

1 - Sorry Mr Nog, your time is up for the pub I posted as I'll be putting the answer up shortly. Grace did however come up with the idea to show you the Waters Edge after you constantly suggested it in earlier visits, and hope you didn't know it when it actually was the pub in question (does that make sense???? For me I mean)

2 - The boat didn't move an inch today

3 - I'm aware that I overstayed on a 24 hour mooring, but no-one was inconvenienced as it's winter, and I was enjoying the country park so much.

So, after a cold night I woke up to a frozen boat and frosty morning. After the usual coffee and slow come around I was in two minds as to what to do today. 20190124_092522.thumb.jpg.469813ca54295892774afa09ec636e38.jpg20190124_092543.thumb.jpg.3434a74a28d3b4fd55650dd1b68dc09f.jpg20190124_092605.thumb.jpg.9b6ea0696223ac7697e0f56da3002094.jpg

I wanted to walk further around the local area but also didn't want to waste a day of cruising.

20190124_092913.thumb.jpg.ce9022b4d9d5fc13b229b5ee5d4ac107.jpg

Eventually I decided to head out to walk the dog and see where we ended up. 20190124_094354.thumb.jpg.efb1680433ea04f2db46a49bfd934e3f.jpg

So walking around the Country Park with a semi frozen lake

20190124_095447.thumb.jpg.7ea6d6972a3c0a48d96e20ec2ac2d548.jpg

Before leaving the park track and heading off along Whitlingham Lane, this time away from the village itself

20190124_100217.thumb.jpg.627b2748b95aa804eefb53288519e00c.jpg

Which took us through a little woodland walk

20190124_100417.thumb.jpg.132b805a53e94438a8450085e03b35b2.jpg

And a lovely children's play area

20190124_100641.thumb.jpg.80f5f77f6a5e21242de3cbb6f8ceebe6.jpg

A further short walk onwards took us into a more industrial area, via an underpass beneath the A47

20190124_101547.thumb.jpg.5e4423d9b9ed0a5f6792101446195a0e.jpg

Another left turn took us along the footpath

20190124_101946.thumb.jpg.a9112c0fbd9309d05bed322fb9272af4.jpg

Which runs beside the romantic Sewerage works :default_wink:

20190124_102127.thumb.jpg.16a4725b6a594ea1ffc72bc53e31be3a.jpg

And then continues on for a while, a left turn would have taken is up a footpath cutting off a walk in the road, but it was too muddy and so we went via the road

20190124_102745.thumb.jpg.242a4bd4bbcacd65b28b50a49d7cab86.jpg

To join onto the footpath a little further on

20190124_104420.thumb.jpg.5e11c111d602affb6eb5d2f56b3f6e9b.jpg

The footpath runs through the fields for a lovely scenic walk

Before reaching Mill Hill, which then winds it's way to the Waters Edge, and Brammerton moorings.

We reached the pub around 1115 and so had a stop off there.

After a few drinks, purely to dehydrate of course, we turned back and headed off around the Country Park once again calling in at the White Horse in Trowse Newton once again. Lovely pub, expensive beer, but doesn't allow dogs inside at all.

20190124_143856.thumb.jpg.211443a1c1d0e1c1b108e11ecafce7f0.jpg

Once drunk up, we headed back to the boat for more drinks, unfortunately the heating stopped working and so alternative forms of keeping warm were required :default_biggrin:

After a few drinks it was time for final walk for the dog and then bed

Ah, I did wonder, since Swancraft stopped hiring we've been a bit light on the upper Yare, might try getting up there next month for a spot of revision :default_beerchug:

Never mind. It's a lovely gastro pub but as they don't allow dogs inside I never usually stop there. It was a lovely walk though, if you like walking and don't mind sewerage works :default_biggrin:

Why thank you, why is it confusing? lol baring in mind I don't want to hijack Mr Fire's holiday blog thread about this :default_party0010:

Opps sorry JF,.

To be brief it is confusing because people use usernames and real names in conversations during the quiz which is fine if you`ve been around for years but as a newbie by the time I`ve worked out who`s who the next Q has popped up and I`ve missed it.

Opps sorry JF

I'd hope everybody knows that they are welcome to come and talk sense or nonsense in my threads. There are plenty of serious threads already, and threads filled with great debate and informative information to learn from

There's none of that in here though, it's just a fun filled (no really) thread of nonsense, Grace, boozing, Grace and cruising, so don't apologize or worry about taking my thread off topic at all.

It's not like I ever do it on every thread I post on now is it :default_smiley-angelic002:

I had a feeling you might like it Sir, it's not a true likeness of myself or anything.

A mirror image maybe :default_smiley-angelic002:
