Awwww that's the pits that Mike, I'd be on the short stuff for sure instead of that lol

Ooh missed this one, there is nothing wrong with a good pint of Becks.

I'm guessing Mr C is darn sarf and having to drink their flat tasteless attempts at serving a proper pint, so no hope there then.

I like the short stuff too ( I know pick yourself up off the floor from amazement), about 5'4" is about the perfect short for me :default_smiley-angelic002:

Monday 10th December

Right, last one as I think I am as bored of these as you all are :default_biggrin:

I woke up to a beautiful morning at Somerleyton, 3° and a ground frost but gorgeous blue skies with the sun shining away.20181210_082900.thumb.jpg.3a8d0fc72f1138b0e934a917613675fc.jpg20181210_082907.thumb.jpg.26fe02428c060a6daf6021580cf0bb40.jpg

As ever I took the dog out for a walk and then sat with a coffee before preparing to set off, after a chat with my overnight neighbour I finally did head out at 1000 back up the Waveney towards Reedham.20181210_082934.thumb.jpg.9e2e4d6fd3d9eec107319868035c145a.jpg20181210_084704.thumb.jpg.9d5e1b9151990d80b587e87e12514f42.jpg20181210_100254.thumb.jpg.9de6c55e4bc06e3de4bb7dc160e88fbe.jpg20181210_102051.thumb.jpg.92c2817e25a73e3ad349f675e741fca4.jpg

I travelled along the New Cut and joined the Yare passing under Reedham Bridge (9') and through Reedham itself. 20181210_105836.thumb.jpg.eaa8eef62d4bf50283ed860335dc259e.jpg20181210_110837.thumb.jpg.729e86f2b041a3c46aa1216ca10a4a55.jpg

The moorings had topped the bank once again, but I didn't concern myself with that today as I was moving on.

I continued along the Yare, 20181210_112848.thumb.jpg.9bc9b67d3024dd0941491fe333ac0dee.jpg

and as I passed an empty Cantley I found the moorings in a worse state than the ones at Reedham. Mental note made to avoid later in the week unless the water levels dropped I continued on all the way along the river20181210_115226.thumb.jpg.f9f25c13552952e323480f35e2c65c4e.jpg20181210_121003.thumb.jpg.dc2b8e0276beb6bbaf275189d2238052.jpg

passing Brundall (tempted to stop at Coldham Hall but pushed on).20181210_124956.thumb.jpg.8193433a7caea24f138e774dadb30f2c.jpg20181210_130356.thumb.jpg.e7a3eaf9beac859f3951a35765daaf7d.jpg

Finally as I found myself passing the Ferry House at Surlingham, the side on moorings were really badly flooded but the stern on moorings were completely empty...What did I say earlier in the week about not passing up an opportunity :default_norty:

So after mooring, I headed inside for a drink to find that there was an almighty (possible slight exaggeration) Christmas dinner going on. I had to wait for nearly 10 minutes to be served, if I wasn't asking for a beer I'd have walked out.

Nevertheless once served I enjoyed a lovely pint or 2 beside the water watching my boat in the sunshine.

I almost stayed for the night, but knowing I really needed to press on, I finished up and set off once more to my home mooring at Brundall

And set out for an evening sampling the refurbished delights of the The Ram Inn

20181210_160959.thumb.jpg.a0192e66a2e2679e4cecc6ea6ff66f3b.jpg

and then another evening aboard before heading off to lay my fat one down.

only thing is there is no such thing

Don't be one of the sheep, be a Chameleon with attitude. I know it's the in thing on the forum to pretend lager is the anti Christ, but a decent northern lager trumps any of the snooty nosed beers banded about. I'm flying the flag for the younger generation, and young one's drink premium lager :default_party0010:

Not boring at all babe, keep it coming :default_icon_kiss:

Your blogs are the best, the pics are brilliant and the write ups so funny. I don't like these flats though, they haven't got heels, I'll have to have a word with Mrs N, see how she deals with it, such a dilemma  :default_biggrin:

Grace

Gracie I've attempted to take heeled sandals, ankle boots the lot with me and still end up in walking boots or boat shoes lol I've discovered heeled trainers this summer going to car shows and such, they really are the future :default_norty:

The pub everyone failed to get was The Decoy Tavern at Fritton. And I'm sorry to say, I had a pint of Becks and it was awful, maybe just a bad day but on that experience it wasn't good at all.

I can't have made it much easier this time.

The Ferry, Reedham, but as for the Decoy Tavern, neither of us have been to Fritton,  so we wouldn't have known it.

How far is it, walking from St Olaves, please JF?

I would go with the San Migel, Peroni, Kronies, maybe a Becks or a Cobra, but I never have Stella, I have always regarded that as a woman's drink.:default_norty:

All nice beers Mr Ranworth Sir, it's the chalice that makes the Stella seem a woman's drink isn't it? :default_biggrin:

It's only about 15 minutes to walk. There is a shirt section with no pavement but other than that it's a short pleasant stroll.

Hello Jayfire,

I quite like the shape of the glass and Tan used to have the odd glass when available, but for me I could never get over the flowery taste when it was first introduced years ago.

Regards

Alan

I can only suggest giving it another go if you can. It's a fine beer, only dragged down by the comments of those snooty ale drinkers :default_biggrin:
