Thursday 21st December

An even more misty morning began after a lie in until 8 :default_blush:

Morning jobs again sorted and a relaxed morning led to a 10.30ish start under Somerlayton swing bridge20171221_110015.thumb.jpg.d0b9d68e9290cdf9209f03a0afabdcef.jpg

and down the Waveney along with the river mist. Beware of the rogue finger getting in the shot :default_coat:20171221_111042.thumb.jpg.f1d196d0c54d3b204b26dadb888a6f26.jpg20171221_111144.thumb.jpg.6222bc82a07db746b19a6c0b661b810c.jpg20171221_111320.thumb.jpg.36aa6a5a42c82f002a1ce5991bc604be.jpg20171221_111415.thumb.jpg.1c6b56bd1952624b3eb816136fb3054c.jpg

passing the Waveney River Centre

Which if I really squeezed in I think we could have got a spot

Carrying on down the Waveney, no prizes for guessing our destination

we even passed another boat on the lower Waveney. I think that puts the weeks total at 6 :default_blink:

And finally at Beccles, where it was busier than expected, but we managed to bag a spot, and rogue finger got in the way once again.

After a bit of shopping for supplies :default_crying1animated: the mist thickened

Hired a few of them in our time, a smashing boat and definitely my favourite. Hmmm a Firefighter and an Aquafibre Pearl, nice combination :default_norty:

Smashing photos Jay, keep them coming

Grace

Curse that random cold which hospitalized you, you could have had a look at the fixtures and fittings.

Lovely photos. The river is so still. It doesn't matter if it is cloudy and grey, there is still a beauty to the rivers and a serenity that you get nowhere else in our busy lives.

You are absolutely spot on. And thank you

After assisting 'the boy' to make a lovely Bolognese it dawned on me that the properties around Beccles YS haven't put much effort into the Christmas Lights.. ... come on guys

Anyway, I am sure you have all had enough of me for one day, tomorrow I am thinking maybe Brammerton.

Yes it will be timed badly so fighting the tide the whole way meaning it will take about 15 hours, but hey, I am up for it.

Hmmmm, low tide at Beccles is just after 9. If you got off at 8 you might pinch a bit of time. But I think the tide wont start flooding up the Yare until after 1 o'clock so you would be pushing it. I reckon at this time of the year you would need pretty much the full day, particularly going against the tide. Put the kettle on and relax. Or do a Griff and put a load of rum in the coffee :default_norty:

Good luck and look forward to your report!!! :default_beerchug:

Thanks, I shall try and time it for reference, but I am so disorganised I will probably have forgotten where I was planning on heading by the morning and end up at Geldeston.......

Friday 22nd December

Ok so I was up at 7 this morning sorted out what needed sorting, paid for what needed paying for and set off at 8.10 after being delayed talking to a fisherman from the local area and delaying my departure.

Anyway as said departure time was 8.10. The weather was dry but cloudy but alone with everyone else in bed I set off heading to Bramerton

So moving up the Waveney River was pleasant, cool and overcast but I made decent headway. WRC was pretty much empty again and we reached the Oulton turn off around 9.30ish

Continuing on I passed under Somerlayton bridge with plenty of room, I had now been fighting against the current since WRC and was looking forward to having it's assistance from Reedham. Before that though it was time for my 4th trip of the week along the new cut.....
