Volvo Throttles

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have a issue with my throttles or gearbox not engaging neutral properly. When mooring etc I put the lever in the neutral position but sometimes the boat carries on under power. Usually a little wiggle sorts it but sometines I have to go in the opposite direction first. This was made more apparent when I started the engine and on reving it to warm up the boat shot forward. I went to check the othyer helm and the levers were in neutral - good job I was still tied up.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance

Wayne

Hi sorted that thottle problem out yet

i have volvo throttles 290 outdrives and initially had a problem sorting out neutral.

The cables stretch and neutral is often in a slightly different position, in older boats, if no adjustments have been made.

Hi - not yet - I seem to have developed a technique of wiggling the levers whenever I move out of gear

I will get around to it though

thanks
