Well was over today to test the many many idea's i have seen on here and none seem to be the culprit. Squelch was ok , Set to INT, Now set on LOW and i asked a friend on his boat to check and nothing, Both on 25, he cant now hear me nor i him so i was wondering that the device is that i remember reading about is ?? To check whats coming in and going out?? Where i would get one and is it easy to use and understand? Im going back over to Brundall tomorrow as I need to pick up my aerial from Ward's as they are putting a new connector on but i dont think thats going to fix it.

If i can find out that the gadget is i can sort where to get one from.

Thanks

Andy.

Andy, apart from another transmitter, which you have tried, the only other device to check if the transceiver is receiving, is a signal generator that covers the relevant frequency, and this is not something 'Mr Average' would be able to 'lay his hands' on.

I suspect that the antenna, the coaxial feeder, or connection is where your problem lays.

If there is a problem in this area, I would advise not trying to transmit on 25W, as you could damage the output transistor(s).

It would be easy for me or Jim to check this for you, given the opportunity.
