Hylander Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Probably that dreadful weather yesterday but saw this elsewhere , just in case it is someone pride and joy. I didnt add the Urgent bit by the way. Quote
NorfolkNog Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Does it say where it is M? Looks like private moorings in which case someone may be in attendance?? Not a mooring I recognise. Quote
Markw Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Possibly Stalham area ? (although i could be very wrong).... Quote
Malanka Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 looks like Broadsedge to me. Could be wrong of course. M Quote
Daddy Mouse Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 28 minutes ago, Malanka said: looks like Broadsedge to me. Could be wrong of course. M It's broads edge marina, channl down to water and pump out where it joins the main river. Quote
Malanka Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 yes, devil of a channel to use if it's even the slightest bit windy as I recall from when we used to moor there. M Quote
Hylander Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Yes sorry I should have said it is Broadsedge. Quote
JennyMorgan Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Lot to be said for well tied knots. Not a weather thing, just poor marlin-spike seamanship. Round turn and two half hitches or even an anchor hitch would do it. Quote
NorfolkNog Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Isn't there a guy called Dave who runs the Marina? I'd have thought he would re-secure the boat or at least know who the owner is. As JM says though, remember the boy scout training! Good knots are key. A worry though if the owner is a long way off. Quote
Bound2Please Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Has any one reported this to David????? If they have I am sure he would have resecured it to its berth. Quote
Cockatoo Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 This was posted on Facebook. I pointed out that surely the person that took the picture could have secured it. The conversation didn't go well 1 1 Quote
Bound2Please Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Just rung David it was resecured first thing this morning. 1 Quote
Bound2Please Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 That begs the question what was MILES WESTERN doing in our marina???? Quote
Hylander Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 I think you will find that he was passing. What is the matter with people so quick to judge and put down, not a nice trait at all on here from time to time. Would you rather he ignored the boat as it was. Folk do not like people touching their pride and joy without permission and best not to go to the boat but report as he did. We moored at Broadsedge for donkey's years and have often seen strangers even down by the pump out station and even having a pump out. As for Facebook well you know what I think of that evil place. 3 Quote
NorfolkNog Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Sums up why I have never used Facebook and never will! 6 Quote
johnb Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 If anyone ever sees my boat untied, even by one rope, please feel free to secure it again, the damage to mine and other boats could be expensive it it managed to drift away. Mind you, I do try to moor up with as much expertise as I have-it comes from people who keep telling me to "Get Kn......" 3 Quote
Bound2Please Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Not sure how that could be photographed there just passing, He never reported it to Broadsedge Marina David came across it while moving another boat. At about 9am this morning Quote

JennyMorgan Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Perhaps he was looking for one? Not unreasonable at this time of the year that people snout round various moorings. Quote
Guest Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Actually since he knew exactly where it was it begs the question why didn't he report it to the yard ? He's a phone and that's all it needed to get it sorted , taking a photo n putting it on FB helps no one he's not looking for a mooring either to my knowledge his boat is on land already Quote
rightsaidfred Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Quite right Ricardo and as he is well known for overstaying on public moorings and making a living out of YouTube sometimes with posed stunts I have to agree with those who query his presence there, Hylander can I respectfully suggest you don't look at everyone with rose tinted spectacles . ZimbiIV Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Hylander, Don't let the cynics/carpers drag you down to their level. If more people tried to do their best for others, that post about a lose boat, would have been posted after the problem had been fixed. paul 1 Quote
