rudder control gauge sender

Recommended Posts

i have bought a rudder gauge and sender

does anyone know how to fit these in plain normal english lol

reading the instructions it doesn't really tell you a lot

and what is there i reckon has been written by a politician :naughty:

i understand the wiring side thats easy apart from it doesn't tell you the gauge of the wire

the sender is about 15 foot from the gauge i was going to use 2mm maybe 2.5mm i presume thats thick enough

but anyway as to the sender lol its probable really easy but looks complicated

i have twin rudders

thanks

This might make it easier Steve, basically you just connect it with a drag link so the arm mirrors the movement of the rudder arm. It doesn't matter if you have single or twin rudders just connect it to whichever is easier to get at. If they are not in the kit you will need a threaded rod and a couple of mini ball joints, if you can't source those you can try radio controlled model racing car suppliers as the do them for the steering. As it's only signal cable then you can use quite light cable, Maplins do a very nice fully tinned 0.75sqmm one that will last well down in that area.
