BroadAmbition
David, first off what a lovely and honest write up, fascinating aerial photo's too - Tks for sharing. Secondly - Respect for facing up to your unwanted situation and just getting on with it. Well done. Griff
Wonderwall
Really enjoyed that David, brave and great decison on your part I think. Has put me in the mood for late June when it's my turn!!
DAVIDH
Thanks you everyone for the kind remarks. Doreen was/is the love of my life and I know she would be wagging a disapproving finger at me if I did not continue doing the things we so loved doing together, and in any case I felt she was still with me. Chris B, I am sure you are apprehensive about your trip. All I can say is that I found it very emotional at times but it was a first I needed to get over - you will know about the firsts - but the sadness of being on my own was equally matched by the contentedness (such a word?) of being back in a place we both love so much.

JamesLV
What a lovely tale after a sad beginning, so sorry for your loss, but definitely keep doing what you’re doing, it seems to be working!
YnysMon
David, I’ve so appreciated your write up. It’s really helpful (that’s probably not the word I was looking for, but forgive me) to read how others are trying to cope with loss of a dearly loved one. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next jaunt. Best wishes helen
DAVIDH
Thanks Helen. I can honestly say the next trip on the Broads is the first thing I have looked forward to since losing Doreen.
Kron
My first time posting even though I have read quite a few of the holiday tales. Yours is a very touching and honest story. It does help with the grieving process to face what can be at times difficult challenges. Thank you for sharing and what great photos. Hope you enjoy the next solo trip and that the wind is a little kinder to you!
