Thanks you everyone for the kind remarks. Doreen was/is the love of my life and I know she would be wagging a disapproving finger at me if I did not continue doing the things we so loved doing together, and in any case I felt she was still with me. Chris B, I am sure you are apprehensive about your trip. All I can say is that I found it very emotional at times but it was a first I needed to get over -  you will know about the firsts - but the sadness of being on my own was equally matched by the contentedness (such a word?) of being back in a place we both love so much.

David, I’ve so appreciated your write up.  It’s really helpful (that’s probably not the word I was looking for, but forgive me) to read how others are trying to cope with loss of a dearly loved one.  Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next jaunt.

My first time posting even though I have read quite a few of the holiday tales. Yours is a very touching and honest story. It does help with the grieving process to face what can be at times difficult challenges. Thank you for sharing and what great photos.
