If it is outside of the ‘normal’ cruising area for the Broads, that’s not playing fair ! I jest, of course. It is a lovely setting wherever it is, I am looking forward to finding out the location.

I suspect Baryy has it! The reference to "pushing the boundaries" indicates the Waveney, it being the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Or maybe the Marne, downstream from Chateau-Thierry. Looks too wide for a Broads river.
