If you see a footballer adopt a new hairstyle, it's probably best not to follow suit. After all, wasn't it the Liverpool team, that gave us the 'man perm' and Newcastle United which gave us the mighty 'mullet' (still big in Germany and some southern states in the US). Many seventies and eighties wedding albums are hidden away, saving the embarrassment of thousands of grooms & best men, who foolishly aped their football idols...

its the chinese habit of stroking the beard, it pulls the hair downwards and out of the chin.

Maybe we should all start pushing the hair on our beards back up

It would certainly cut down on the beard trims.
